Department of Education OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY Pasay City, Philippines To our dear graduates, parents, school administrators, faculty and staff of [Name of School]: my warmest and sincerest greetings on this momentous occasion! I am privileged to celebrate with you todays commencement exercises which marks the culmination of years of hard work and study, planning and preparation, and investment in time and resources. This day is truly a significant milestone for every graduate, parent, administrator, faculty and staff, as it is for us in the Department of Education. And while we know that it does not end here-for most of you, this is only the beginning-it is only right that we take this opportunity to pause, take account of what we have accomplished, and issue a deep sigh of satisfaction and relief as we congratulate one another, before moving on to the next chapter of our lives. This years theme, Your Gift of Learning, Our Tool for Nation Building, extends an appropriate invitation to each one of us. The gift of learning is a universal one offered to every stakeholder in the education sector. To our dear graduates, remember that your newly harnessed values, knowledge and skills shall comprise the building blocks of our society. The choices you make, the relationships you cultivate, the attitudes you bring to school and work, and these erect the pillars and walls of our rising nation. How beautiful and strong this building you desire to be depends a lot on you. To our rightfully proud parents, administrators, faculty and staff, your own gifts to support and reform education are making it possible for us to hope for a better future. Yet, let us also remember that our actions and examples, more than words, leave firmer imprints in the minds of the young. The integrity we bring into our homes and classrooms become the foundation of our own future. The justice, peace and prosperity we yearn for strongly depend on the truth and faithfulness we invest today. We are all architects, engineers and builders working together in this colossal project we call our country, the Philippines. I hope and pray that over and above each of our personal dreams for ourselves comes a larger dream of a united, fulfilled and prosperous Filipino people, a dream that not only benefits a few but one that benefits all. Congratulations on your achievement! Celebrate it, cherish it and let it inspire to make your own contribution to the development of our nation. Mabuhay kayong lahat! Signed. Br. Armin Luistro Secretary

MESSAGE
It is with joy that I greet, congratulate and commend, in behalf of the Local Government Unit of Bulan, our school administrators, teachers, parents and students on the occasion of this school years recognition and commencement exercises. This annual tradition once more brings to the fore the value we place upon education. To some it may seem like a yearly ritual, but to many it is an occasion for celebration, not only for our children, parents and teachers but for the community as a whole. It is a time to celebrate life, of growth in life, and the manifestation of love, service, sacrifice and pursuit of higher ideals and aspirations. Human as we are, it is also a time to look back, and to appreciate the past, at what had been positively done. So now, as another year had gone, and with more to come, we exhort our young people to put the greatest value on the gifts that we receive, especially of learning. It a gift from God and it ought to be taken care of, and be used for the betterment not only of ourselves, but that of our family, and community, of our nation, of the world. Every gift must be used for noble and sublime purpose, for we just pass this way but once, and at the end of the road, what shall be counted is not what we have done but how we have done it, out of the essentials of faith, hope and love. To our teachers, we say, for the 9th time, Thank you. For your selflessness, for your dedication, for your charity. To our parents, true to your calling, we offer our salute. Indeed, our educational institutions have been faithful to the call of duty and love. More power to all of you! God bless you tabi. Antabayanan kamo san Mahal na Dios! HELEN C. MESSAGE Going to school is not easy as reciting the a, b, c. It means a lot of love, faith, hope, encouragement, hard work and patience. It does not involve financial resources only but also material and human resources. Acquiring knowledge, skills and value not only involve the pupil and the teacher but also the parents and the community. So the learning you get from the school is a product of the cooperative efforts of the school, the community and home. The six long years of elementary education you acquired from Quezon Elementary School gave you the opportunity to be mentally, emotionally, intellectually and physically mature and you are now ready to explore the second phase of education, the secondary education. I would like to pursue your dreams and be bold and brave enough to face whatever consequences and trials you may pass. With positive outlook in life I believe that you will have a better future and you will be an asset in the community. Finally your being productive citizen will help in building our country and our future. To the parents, continue to be supportive to your children. Our children are our greatest gift. To young graduates and parents, my warmest congratulations!
