Procedure

Topic : I love My Family Beginning Objectives / Rationale of the activities: To introduce the topic of lesson and to arouse pupils interest. Activity 1 : Recognising Voices Listen to recorded voices (voices of family members)- exp: Grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, sister and brother. Activity 2 : Singing A Song Listen to the song title-I love you and you love me(Barney song). Pupils sing along with actions.

Development Objective / Rationale of the activity : To boost pupils knowledge and learn in fun way. Activity 1 - Group activity Pupils play Loving Family card game. Each group will be given 5 sets of family cards (artists names) Pupils ask the card from their friends in correct sentence. Exp: Pupil A : May I have Shah Rukh Khans sister, please? Pupil B : Here you are. Pupil A : Thank you. The first person who completes a family is the winner.

Objective / Rationale of the activity To encourage and motivate pupils to speak and to build self confidence among the pupils.

Activity 2 - Match and Talk Game (Group activity) Pupils are divided into groups Each group will be given a set of picture cards. Pupils will jumble the cards and arrange them. Pupils pick and turn the picture cards . Pupils talk about the picture that matches correctly. The person who got many cards are the winner. Closure Objective / Rationale of the activity : To conclude the lesson in a fun way and recall what the pupils have learnt.

Activity 1 : Magic Box Game Pupils listen to the music while passing the box. When the music stops, the pupils who holds the magic box have to pick one star which is written a word. Exp: SISTER Pupils see the word and act out the character. The other pupils need to guess the character.

Activity 2 : Solving Riddles Teacher says riddles aloud to the pupils. Exp: I have a moustache, I go to work everyday, Who am I ? Pupils listen and solve the riddles by guessing the correct name of family members. The pupils who answer correctly will run to teachers table and wear masks of the role. After wearing the masks, all the pupils need to spell the words together orally.
