Introduction

This is my guide about Top Titles in DW7XL. The purpose of this guide is to list the name of all top titles, their effects and how they are unlocked. Top titles have similiar unlocking requirements so if you can unlock one, you'll most likely be able to unlock the rest of them as well. Before starting, I'll give some helpful tips which makes obtaining Top Titles much easier. Getting 1st - 7th titles Getting these titles should be simple enough. Remember, you can't obtain Top Title for a character before you've obtained the previous titles for him. While these titles aren't that hard to unlock, getting them may take a while. Here are stages which help you unlock them as fast as possible: 1st - 3rd titles: Guan Yu's Escape Wei Forces Difficulty: Beginner Pretty simple. Just get the required KOs/officers and then take out Guan Yu. Since this only 3-star stage, everyone can be OHKOed (One-Hit Koed) on Beginner which makes your job easier. Note: 1st title is automatically unlocked for all characters once your Adjutant tells in Legend mode that you can obtain titles. If you reset a character from Options meny, however, then you lose all your titles including the 1st title and then you have to get it yourself. 4th - 6h titles: Battle of Fan Castle Wei/Wu Forces, Conflict at Nanzhong Difficulty: Beginner, Hard (for 6th title) Both stages are good for KOs and officers. They also allow you to head straight for enemy commander without unnecessary waiting. Fan Castle should be the first choice but if Stage Rank is 6 or higher, then definitely pick Conflict at Nanzhong. When you play that stage, I recommend you always head east since there are more generic officers located (Zhang Bao, Guan Xing, Liao Hua). 7th title: Battle of Fan Castle Wei/Wu Forces, Conflict at Nanzhong, Battle of Wuzhang Plains Shu Forces Difficulty: Chaos Most of the 7th titles require you to play stage which has 8 or higher rank. Wuzhang Plains Shu is your best option if that's the case. Just take out the officers near the western and central fortresses (Xiahou Wei, Wang Lang, Xiahou Hui, Xiahou Mao) and head stragith for Sima Yi. Some titles can be obtained on 5/7 or higher rank and when that happens, it's best to stick with Fan Castle Wei/Wu or Conflict at Nanzhong.

Character Stats and Weapons Before attempting Top Titles, try to get as high stats as you can for your character. +1100 Attack/Defense and +700 Life should be enough even when trying to get titles from 9- or 10star stages. Also make sure that character's Skill Tree is maxed out and you have 3-star Profiency with all weapons. But even with a good character, you may still encounter problems without a good weapon setup. Here are weapon combinations I personally recommend: Weapon 1: Sword - Sacred Sunbeam Attack: 77 Element: Lv. 8 Slay Seals: Double Element, Elemental Attack Up, Attack Range, Officer Assasin, Projectile Resistance Weapon 2: Flute Death Whisper Attack: 35 Element: Lv. 9 Lightning Seals: Combat Resistance, Elemental Attack Up, Attack Range, Officer Assasin, Projectile Resistance or Weapon 2b Dragon Spear Tornado Spear Attack: 55 Element: Lv. 8 Wind Seals: Combat Resistance, Elemental Attack Up, Attack Range, Officer Assasin, Projectile Resistance Sacred Sunbeam is easily one of my favorites for getting Top Titles. 2x Attack Range gives it a really nice reach, especially for basic attacks. Charge attacks are fast and effective. C3 breaks the guard of enemies even without Wind element, C4 is a long range attack in case you want to keep enemies far away from you and C6 is an effective crowd clearer. It's also a Speed weapon which means you can quickly cancel your Charges. It's also good for juggling enemy officers. Both Flute and Dragon Spear work as excellent secondary weapons. Flute's C1 makes enemies slower and lowers their defense. C3 and C4 are both effective 360 Charge attacks. One very useful tip which I and many other members also recommend is using Flute's Charge while mounted. It's easily one of the safest and strongest attacks to use on Nightmare. Flute's Lightning also gives you a nice attack boost to Charge attacks. Dragon Spear's C4 is a strong move against regular enemies and also against generals. Wind element means your Charges cannot be blocked. C6 is another good move since it activates elemental effect twice. However, the attack usually leaves your guard open which can be risky if one of the top title requirements is to maintain your health at certain % .

Note: All Jin characters have a 4th title called General Who Conquers Shu which allows them to absorb Health only when using EX weapon. In this case, secondary weapon should be EX instead of Flute or Dragon Spear. You can still use Sacred Sunbeam but just make sure you switch to EX when running low on Health. Sima Yi is an exception, though; He has a 7th title which allows him to asorb Health when using Speed weapon. These are just weapon combinations I recommend. I know there are other devastating weapon combinations as well but I'm just listing the ones I mainly use. And finally, here are the Top Titles. Rememeber, they can only be obtained on Nightmare difficulty: Commander General Effect: Attack and Defense against officers increases moderately when using weapons requiring Power. Characters: Xiahou Dun, Dian Wei, Zhang Liao, Xu Zhu, Zhang He, Pang De, Gan Ning, Taishi Ci, Huang Gai, Zhou Tai, Ling Tong, Ding Feng, Wei Yan, Guan Ping, Jiang Wei, Guan Suo, Sima Shi, Deng Ai, Zhong Hui, Xiahou Ba, Yuan Shao Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 5 officers within 5 minutes of the start of the battle while maintaining over 50 % Health. Stage Rank: 6 or higher. Recommended stages: Battle of Xiping Gate, Showdown at Nanzhong

Lord Grand Marshal Effect: Defense against projectile and shockwave attacks increases very significantly when using EX Attack - capable weapons. Characters: Xiahou Yuan, Xu Huang, Cao Ren, Jia Xu, Guo Jia, Pang Tong, Ma Dai, Zhuge Dan, Guo Huai Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 6 officers while maintaining over 60 % Health. Stage Rank: 5 or higher. Recommended Stages: Battle of Fan Castle - Wei/Wu Forces, Battle of Xiping Gate, Showdown at Nanzhong, Conflict at Nanzhong

Empress Effect: Damage taken from enemies is lessened moderately when using weapons requiring Speed. Characters: Zhen Ji, Wang Yi, Xiao Qiao, Bao Sanniang, Diao Chan, Zhu Rong Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 1 officer within 1 minute of the start of the battle. Stage Rank: 7 or higher (??). Recommended Stages: Any stage which meets Stage Rank requirements.

Queen Effect: Absorb large amounts of enemy Health when inflicting damage using EX Attack capable weapons. Characters: Cai Wenji, Da Qiao, Lian Shi, Yue Ying, Xing Cai, Wang Yuanji Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 7 officers while maintaining over 50 % Health. Stage Rank: 5 or higher. Recommended Stages: Battle of Fan Castle - Wei/Wu Forces, Battle of Xiping gate, Showdown at Nanzhong, Conflict at Nanzhong

Tiger General Effect: Attack and Defense against officers increases moderately when using EX Attack capable weapons. Characters: Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, Huang Zhong Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 6 officers while maintaining over 50 % Health. Stage Rank: 6 or higher. Recommended Stages: Battle of Baidi Castle - Shu/Wu Forces, Battle of Xiping Gate, Showdown at Nanzhong, Conflict at Nanzhong

King of Wu Effect: Absorb moderate amounts of enemy Health when inflicting damage using weapons requiring Speed. Characters: Sun Jian, Sun Ce, Sun Quan Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 3 officers within 4 minutes of the start of the battle without using a Musou attack. Grand Admiral Effect: Damage inflicted upon airborne enemies increases very significantly. Characters: Zhou Yu, Lu Meng Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 5 officers within 5 minutes of the start of the battle. (Credit to member Mushhushshu) Stage Rank: 7 or higher. Recommended Stages: Conflict at Nanzhong

King of Shu

Effect: Attack and Defense against officers increases moderately when using weapons requiring Speed. Characters: Liu Bei, Liu Shan Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 4 officers within 6 minutes of the start of the battle without using a Musou attack. Stage Rank: 9 or higher. Recommended Stages: Defend Dongxing

King of Wei Effect: Damage inflicted upon enemies increases moderately when using weapons requiring Speed. Characters: Cao Cao, Cao Pi Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 4 officers without using a Musou attack while maintaining over 30 % Health. Stage Rank: 9 or higher. Recommended stages: Defend Dongxing

Prime Minister Effect: Damage taken from enemies is lessened significantly when using weapons requiring Speed. Characters: Lu Xun, Zhuge Liang Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 4 officers within 6 minutes of the start of the battle without using a Musou attack. Stage Rank: 5 or higher. Recommended Stages: Battle of Fan Castle - Wei/Wu Forces

Senior Grand Tutor Effect: Damage taken from enemies is lessened moderately when using weapons requiring Power. Characters: Sima Yi, Dong Zhuo Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 4 officers while maintaining over 70 % Health. Stage Rank: 5 or higher. Recommended Stages: Battle of Fan Castle - Wei/Wu Forces

Bow-waisted Princess Effect: Defense against projectile and shockwave attacks increases very significantly when using weapons requiring Speed.

Characters: Sun Shang Xiang Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 3 officers within 4 minutes at the start of the battle without using a Musou attack. Stage Rank: 8 or higher. Recommended Stages: Battle of Mt. Qi, Battle of Wuzhang Plains - Shu Forces

General of Unparalleled Might Effect: Damage inflicted upon enemies increases massively when using EX Attack - capable weapons. Characters: Lu Bu Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 1000 enemies without using a Musou attack while maintaining over 70 % Health. Stage Rank: 10 Recommended Stages: Campaign against Zhong Hui, Siege of Mt. Ding Jun (DLC), Siege of Nanpi (DLC)

Grand Master Effect: Damage taken from enemies is lessened moderately when using weapons requiring Speed. Characters: Zhang Jiao Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 3 officers without using a Musou attack while maintaining over 70 % Health. Stage Rank: 9 or higher. Recommended Stages: Defend Dongxing

King of Jin Effect: Damage inflicted upon enemies increases moderately when using weapons requiring Power. Characters: Sima Zhao Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 6 officers within 5 minutes of the start of the battle. Stage Rank: 9 or higher. Recommended Stages: Defend Dongxing

King of Nanzhong Effect: Damage taken from enemies is lessened very significantly when using EX Attack capable weapons. Characters: Meng Huo

Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 6 officers within 5 minutes of the start of the battle. Stage Rank: 9 or higher.
