ELO 2 Position a 750 CFM Air Compressor and Rock Drill for Drilling Operations (Practical Exercise #2)

Requirements: a. Prepares the air compressor and rock drill for operation. b. Performs startup procedures in accordance with the applicable references(s). c. Conducts all operational checks in accordance with the applicable reference(s).

d. Operates the air compressor and rock drill in accordance with the applicable reference(s). (1) Turns on the air to the drill. (2) Puts the boom into its lowest position and the feed tilt up slightly (ensures that the hydraulic hoses do not touch the ground while tramming.) (3) Moves the drill straight forward, pushing both the left and the right tram controls forward at the same time. (4) Moves the drill straight backwards, pulling both the left and the right tram controls backward at the same time. (5) Moves the left handle forward and the right handle back to turn the drill toward the right, and move handles in the opposite direction to turn left. (6) Stops the drill from moving, puts both tram controls into the neutral position. e. Prepares the drill for drilling operations. (1) Places the hydraulic shutoff valve in the horizontal position to activate the hydraulic pump. (2) Maneuvers the boom controls to obtain the desired altitude of the boom and feed. (a) Feed Tilt 1) Pulls the handle backward to move the front end of the feed down. 2) Pushes the handle forward to move the front end of the feed up. (b) Boom Lift 1) Pulls the handle backward to lift the boom. 2) Pushes the handle forward to lower the boom.
