Rice mill: This factory is established in 1910 by forefather of Mr. Sathe to complete need of local paddy processing.

Initially the machines were brought up from Germany but maintaincne work is done locally. Whole mill runs on single motor of Crompton and Greaves with 30 HP output power. Individual belt drive is provided from common source. The reason behind using such high power method against number of small motor was issue of failure. If single intermediate motor fails they have to town for repairing. When any operation is not necessary, its shaft is kept ideal.

Process: 1. Paddy is put on ground from gunny bags. Belt conveyor with small cups lifts that paddy to certain height and put into hopper. 2. Pipe from hopper carries paddy to mesh where small stones and other waste is removed. 3. Then again paddy is lifted to height and Pipe carries paddy to husk separator having two rollers with rubber lining on outer surface. Rubbing action between two rotating rollers separates husk from rice. About 25 % of paddy still remains unprocessed. 4. Rice is passed to grader where unprocessed paddy is again sent to separator from one side and other side gives processed rice with different size. 5. Two polishing devices are kept at the end. Inverted cone with abrasive material on it is rubbed with casing. Extent of polishing can be decided by adjusting screw which controls vertical movement of cone and hence changes distance between cone and casing. 6. Polished rice is passed to grader which grades rice according to size. 7. Finally processed rice is packed in gunny bag.

Income other than rice: 1. Husk is sold to brick makers. 2. Bran is sold to fisheries, cattle feed. 3. Small pieces of rice is sold at very low rate
