QURANIC PRAYERS
THE OPENING

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
Most Gracious, Most Merciful;
Master of the Day of Judgment.
Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek.
Show us the straight way,
The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those
whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.

Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong,
and to Him is our return.
03.
o
(Allah) save me from being an ignorant (fool)!"

04. To Seek Acceptance of Good Deeds (2-127,128)
o
"Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us: For Thou art the AllHearing, the All-knowing. "Our Lord! make of us Muslims,
bowing to Thy (Will), and of our progeny a people Muslim,
bowing to Thy (will); and show us our place for the celebration
of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in Mercy); for Thou art the OftReturning, Most Merciful.

"Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the
Hereafter, and defend us from the torment of the Fire!".
06.
"Our Lord! Pour out constancy on us and make our steps firm:
Help us against those that reject faith."
07.
"We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord,
and to Thee is the end of all journeys.
08.
o
"Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our
Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on
those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than
we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us
forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us
against those who stand against faith."
09.
"Our Lord!" (they say), "Let not our hearts deviate now after
Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own
Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure.
10.

"Our Lord! we have indeed believed: forgive us, then, our sins,
and save us from the agony of the Fire."
11.
"O Allah. Lord of Power (And Rule), Thou givest power to whom
Thou pleases, and Thou strips off power from whom Thou pleases:
Thou endues with honour whom Thou pleases, and Thou brings
low whom Thou pleases: In Thy hand is all good. Verily, over all
things Thou hast power.
"Thou causes the night to gain on the day, and thou causes the
day to gain on the night; Thou brings the living out of the dead, and
Thou brings the dead out of the living; and Thou gives sustenance
to whom thou pleases, without measure.

"O my Lord! Grant unto me from Thee a progeny that is pure: for
Thou are He that hears prayer!
13.

"Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow
the Messenger. then write us down among those who bear
witness."
14.
"Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and anything We may have done
that transgressed our duty: Establish our feet firmly, and help us
against those that resist Faith."

"Our Lord! not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give
us salvation from the penalty of the Fire.
"Our Lord! any whom Thou do admit to the Fire, Truly Thou covers with
shame, and never will wrong-doers Find any helpers!
"Our Lord! we have heard the call of one calling (Us) to Faith, 'Believe ye
in the Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, blot out
from us our iniquities, and take to Thyself our souls in the company of the
righteous.
"Our Lord! Grant us what Thou did promise unto us through Thine
apostles, and save us from shame on the Day of Judgment: For Thou
never break Thy promise."

"Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are
oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and
raise for us from thee one who will help!"
17.

"O Allah our Lord! Send us from heaven a table set (with viands),
that there may be for us - for the first and the last of us - a solemn
festival and a sign from thee; and provide for our sustenance, for thou
art the best Sustainer (of our needs)."
18.
They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If thou
forgive us not and bestow not upon us Thy Mercy, we shall certainly
be lost."
19.

"We should indeed invent a lie against Allah, if we returned to your ways
after Allah has rescued us there from; nor could we by any manner of
means return thereto unless it be as in the will and plan of Allah, Our Lord.
Our Lord can reach out to the utmost recesses of things by His knowledge.
In the Allah is our trust. our Lord! decide Thou between us and our people
in truth, for Thou art the best to decide."
20.

"But thou dost wreak thy vengeance on us simply because we
believed in the Signs of our Lord when they reached us! Our
Lord! pour out on us patience and constancy, and take our
souls unto thee as Muslims (who bow to thy will)!
21.
"O my Lord! forgive me and my brother! Admit us to Thy
mercy! For Thou are the Most Merciful of those who show
mercy!"
22.

Thou causes whom Thou will to stray, and Thou leads whom
Thou will into the right path. Thou are our Protector: so forgive
us and give us Thy mercy; for Thou are the best of those who
forgive.
"And ordain for us that which is good, in this life and in the
Hereafter: for we have turned unto Thee." He said: "With My
punishment I visit whom I will; but My mercy extends to all
things. That (mercy) I shall ordain for those who do right, and
practice regular charity, and those who believe in Our signs.

Now has come unto you a Messenger from amongst
yourselves: it grieves him that you should perish: ardently
anxious is he over you: to the Believers is he most kind and
merciful. But if they turn away, Say: "(Allah) suffices me: there is
no god but He: On Him is my trust,- He the Lord of the Throne
(of Glory) Supreme!"

Our Lord! make us not a trial for those who practice oppression; "And
deliver us by Thy Mercy from those who reject (Thee).
25.
If Allah do touch thee with hurt, there is none can remove it but He; If He
do design some benefit for thee, there is none who can keep back His
favor. He causes it to reach whomsoever of His servants He pleases. And
He is the Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
26.
"O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask Thee for that
of which I have no knowledge. And unless thou forgive me and
have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!"
27. Prayer for Success (11-88)

And my success (in my task) can only come from Allah. In Him I
trust, and unto Him I look.
28.
o
But Allah is the best to take care (of him), and He is the Most
Merciful of those who show mercy!"
29

Further he said: "O my sons! enter not all by one gate: enter ye by different
gates. Not that I can profit you aught against Allah (with my advice): None
can command except Allah. On Him do I put my trust: and let all who trust
put their trust on Him."

"I only complain of my distraction and anguish to Allah, and I know from
Allah that which ye know not.
31
o
"O my Lord! Thou hast indeed bestowed on me some power, and
taught me something of the interpretation of dreams and events,- O
Thou Creator of the heavens and the earth! Thou art my Protector in
this world and in the Hereafter. Take Thou my soul (at death) as one
submitting to Thy will (as a Muslim), and unite me with the
righteous."

O our Lord! Truly Thou dost know what we conceal and what we
reveal: for nothing whatever is hidden from Allah, whether on earth
or in heaven.
33.

O my Lord! make me one who establishes regular Prayer, and also
(raise such) among my offspring O our Lord! and accept Thou my
Prayer.
"O our Lord! cover (us) with Thy Forgiveness - me, my parents, and
(all) Believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established!

We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they
say.
But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who
prostrate themselves in adoration.
And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is
Certain.

"My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in
childhood."
36
"O my Lord! Let my entry be by the Gate of Truth and Honour, and
likewise my exit by the Gate of Truth and Honour; and grant me from Thy
Presence an authority to aid (me)."

Our Lord! bestow on us Mercy from Thyself, and dispose of our affair for
us in the right way!"

O my Lord! Expand me my breast; ease my task for me and remove the
impediment from my speech, so they may understand what I say:

O my Lord! advance me in knowledge.

"O Lord, "Truly distress has seized me, but Thou art the Most Merciful of
those that are merciful."

"There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!"

"O my Lord! Leave me not without offspring, though thou art
the best of inheritors."

"O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the suggestions of the Evil
Ones and I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! lest they should come near
me".

'Our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have
mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show
mercy!"

"O my Lord! grant Thou forgiveness and mercy for Thou art the
Best of those who show mercy!"

"Our Lord! avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is
indeed an affliction grievous, evil indeed is it as an abode, and
as a place to rest in"
49.
"Our Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of
our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous."

"Who created me, and it is He who guides me; who gives me
food and drink, and when I am ill, it is He who cures me; who
will cause me to die, and then to life (again); and who, I hope, will forgive
me my faults on the day of Judgment.
"O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; grant
me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest
(generations); make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss.
Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; and let me not be in
disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up.
51.
"O my Lord! so order me that I may be grateful for Thy favors, which thou hast
bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may work the righteousness that
will please Thee: And admit me, by Thy Grace, to the ranks of Thy righteous
Servants."
52.

"O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul! Do Thou then forgive me!"
So ((Allah)) forgave him: for He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

"O my Lord! For that
Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace on me, never shall I be a help to those
who sin!"
54.

I do hope that my Lord will show me the smooth and straight Path.
56.
"O my Lord! truly am I in (desperate) need of any good that
Thou dost send me!"
57.

"O my Lord! help Thou me against people who do mischief!"
58.

Praise be to Allah, Who has removed from us (all) sorrow: for
our Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving Ready to appreciate (service):
59.

"O Allah. Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of all
that is hidden and open! it is Thou that wilt judge between Thy
Servants in those matters about which they have differed."
61.

"Our Lord! Thy Reach is over all things, in Mercy and Knowledge.
Forgive, then, those who turn in Repentance, and follow Thy Path; and
preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire!
"And grant, our Lord! that they enter the Gardens of Eternity, which Thou
hast promised to them, and to the righteous among their fathers, their
wives, and their posterity! For Thou art (He), the Exalted in Might, Full of
Wisdom.
"And preserve them from (all) ills; and any whom Thou dost preserve from
ills that Day,- on them wilt Thou have bestowed Mercy indeed: and that will
be truly (for them) the highest Achievement".
62.
Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could ever have
accomplished this (by ourselves), and to our Lord, surely, must we turn
back!
63.

"Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!"
64.
o

("O" Lord!) I am the one overcome: Do Thou then help (me)!"
65.

"O my Lord! Grant me that I may be grateful for Thy favor which Thou has
bestowed upon me, and upon both my parents, and that I may work
righteousness such as Thou may approve; and be gracious to me in my
issue. Truly have I turned to Thee and truly do I bow (to Thee) in Islam."
66.

"Our Lord! Forgive us, and our brethren who came before us into the
Faith, and leave not, in our hearts, rancor (or sense of injury) against those
who have believed. Our Lord! Thou art indeed Full of Kindness, Most
Merciful."
67.

"Our Lord! in Thee do we trust, and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to
Thee is (our) Final Goal.
"Our Lord! Make us not a (test and) trial for the Unbelievers, but forgive
us, our Lord! for Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
68.
"Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for Thou
hast power over all things."
69.

"He is ((Allah)) Most Gracious: We have believed in Him, and on Him have
we put our trust: So, soon will ye know which (of us) it is that is in manifest
error."
70.

"Alas for us! We have indeed transgressed! It may be that our Lord will
give us in exchange a better (garden) than this: for we do turn to Him (in
repentance)!"
71.

"O my Lord! Leave not of the Unbelievers, a single one on earth! "For, if
Thou dost leave (any of) them, they will but mislead Thy devotees, and
they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones.

"O my Lord! Forgive me, my parents, all who enter my house
in Faith, and (all) believing men and believing women: and to
