I am interested to do the internship in Indus Green Gold Marketing Live Project because The project will provide me the opportunity to practically implement my knowledge and enrich my experience as a marketer in an industry that is forecasted to grow rapidly in the upcoming years since demand of renewable energy in India is burgeoning as the years are passing by . I have previously worked in the IT industry for more than 4 years. During my tenure as an IT consultant I was very keen on learning innovative and emerging technologies. This internship will provide me the opportunity to be associated with an organization that has embarked on a path of creating a revolution in renewable energy. The sincere efforts of Indus Green Gold to identify and then utilize the untapped potential of Juliflora as a bio fuel has risen my desire to do the internship and be exposed to a new learning experience. During my tenure at Cognizant, in my first project my client was PNM Resources. PNM Resources is an energy generating company operating in the US state of New Mexico. PNM Resources also utilizes renewable resources for power generation. The company primarily focuses on electricity generation through wind (about 85%) and solar (about 15%). While working in the project I had been exposed to the processes involved in energy generation through renewable resources. Since then I have been interested to learn more about the methodologies adopted to generate electricity through renewable resources. The internship will give me the chance to fulfill my long awaited desire to be a part of the renewable energy sector. The exposure will help me to decide whether I shall be able to fulfill my long term career objectives in the renewable energy sector and my suitability in the industry. I fully support rural empowerment. I am part of Karma Yoga Core Members' Team at Great Lakes Institute Of Management that is a program to empower the rural population in adjoining villages of Great Lakes Institute Of Management. Indus Green Gold also works on a similar leadership model that provides employment opportunities in rural India. The company has also supported the development of infrastructure in villages. I would definitely want to do an internship in such an organization that fulfills its moral

responsibilities to society. I would feel proud to be a part of such an organization. This internship will help me to widen my outlook and perspective on energy production facilities in India and as a marketer through adoption of pragmatic approach and rational thinking while developing creative and novel marketing strategies and innovation. I shall be able to contribute constructively to the project by sharing my inputs and utilizing my skill set as a management student.

What will be the approach to analyze and move further? Marketing Perspective

In the modern era, biomass contributes to over one third of energy consumption in the developing countries. In India, the forecasted potential to generate power through bio mass is 19000 MW. More than 70% of the country's population depends on biomass to fulfill the energy needs. Every year, biomass power generation attracts investment of over Rs.600 crores, generating more than 5000 million units of electricity and annual employment of more than 10 million man days in rural areas.

As a biomass fuel Juliflora has a promising potential. Indus Green Gold thrives on this advantage of Juliflora and has adopted an innovative way to overcome the troubles of manual harvesting of Juliflora. The processes implemented are environment friendly and avoid carbon emissions that leads to global warming. The company has automated the process of felling, bunching, cutting, chipping and delivering to the plant that helps the company to save processing time. Indus Green Gold processes 200 MT of Juliflora per day per unit. Energy Properties Of P. Juliflora Sample P. Juliflora Moisture Content (%) 7.30 Volatile Matter (%) 76.75 Ash Content (%) 1.13 Fixed Carbon (%) 14.82 Calorific Value (Kcal) 4.952

In India the total commercial energy consumption is approximately 107MW. Boilers are the largest users. During the last several decades, the use of boilers in industries have shown considerable growth. There are more than 200000 industrial boilers in use in India. Therefore, boilers can serve as a strong potential market for Indus Green Gold.

The Indian cement industry is the second largest producer of cement in the world after Chinas. It had a total capacity of about 330m tonnes (MT) in the FY11 - FY12. The Indian cement industry faced a compounded growth rate of about 8%. The energy consumption accounts for 9% of the total energy consumed by the industrial sector. Therefore, the Indian cement industry could be a strong client for Indus Green Gold since the energy requirements are high. The company should improvise the distribution network and set up processing plants near the cement factories in order to fulfill the energy requirements of the cement factories. India's per capita consumption of paper and pulp is estimated to be 7kg. In a developing economy such as India, increasing literacy rate and economic growth is bound the push the sales of paper and pulp. The per capita consumption is expected to rise to 12 kg by 2020. The paper and pulp industry can be a strong market since o The Government of India has withdrawn core sector status enjoyed by the paper industry o Supply of coal is reducing along with increase in coal price o Cost of production has increased drastically since coal is imported in order to generate steam/power. o Power purchased from the grid is proving expensive

The rapidly increasing crude oil and gas prices will pave the way for an increasing demand of renewable energy. Therefore, by cost effective processing and maintaining low price, Indus Green Gold can step into the international market. However, to sustain the competition Indus Green Gold needs to keep innovating and improvising on its processes, supply chain and distribution network. A clearly structured international market entry strategy would be o Identification of overall target - mission and vision o Recognition of target markets - markets with highest demand o Development of product, sales and marketing strategy o Compilation of action plan - measures of strategic implementation Target Region Market Attractiveness Fit For Market Market
Target Market Consumer Group Market Volume, Market Growth, Market Entry Barriers, Competitive Situation Need of individual customer group verses fulfillment of needs through product/company

Market Volume, Market Growth, Price Levels, Market Entry Barriers, Competitive Situation Distance, language, current corporate strategy (reputation, presence, references, turnover)

From the pie chart,it is clear that the renewable energy market will expand in the coming years. Therefore, Indus Green Gold should keep scaling up and redesigning its processes in order to capture a larger market share and have a sustained growth. Innovation in technology should be the objective in order to have long term and sustained growth. The company should invest considerably in R& D activities. Since the company is in the B2B sector, the company should be able to match the demand and supply. Indus Green Gold should ensure quality in order to price the product effectively in the B2B segment. Indus Green Gold should develop a framework through which the client can evaluate the product and service. The company clearly communicate the value of its product. In order to maintain the competitive edge the company should move ahead with CSR activities and encourage rural empowerment.
