CHF Patners in Rural Development (November 2006-June 2007)

Position: Assistant Consultant

Responsibilities

• Research and identify the current formal procedures for establishing a


Field Office in Zimbabwe.

• Support the Regional Field Director (RFD) to plan and organise in-
country partners and identified stakeholders and role players to ensure
participation in the process.

• Consult with the RFD and in-country partners to make recommendations


for the location of the Field Office.

• Obtain all necessary documentation, applications and supporting


documents required for registration.

• Support with the RFD in his consultations with in-country partners


Project Support Unit (PSU) and Canadian International Development
Assistance (CIDA) around eliciting required support and endorsements.

• Initiate formal registration with the regulatory body in Zimbabwe.

• Set up meetings with relevant authorities as required.

• Advocate the work of CHF with relevant Government of Zimbabwe


stakeholders and role-players.

• Develop appropriate media and publicity products for the Zimbabwean


and international media on the establishment of the Field Office if
necessary.

• In consultation with RFD lobby target people and institutions in the


public and private sectors around the registration of the Zimbabwe Field
Office.

• Advise the RFD of any legislative or policy impediments and


opportunities in establishing a Zimbabwe Field Office

• Advise the RFD of any inherent assumptions and obstacles that may
threaten the establishment of a sustainable presence in Zimbabwe.

• In collaboration with the RFD establish an M&E framework for


assessing the impact and performance of the Field Office.

• Proactively liaising with all stakeholders to ensure that current
policies are relevant and whether new policies are required; and
