1986 and 1987 have been years of t.eating and James 1 records the Holy Spirit-'s Message to us "Count i t all 3oy, my brethren* when you fall into
various t r i a l s (problems, -troubles, tests of your fai-th>".
In 1986, our daughter Dana had cancer surgery and seems fully recovered at -this time and will have her -two year check up in March 1988. She is now working as a teacher in the Orange County School District of California
near Disneyland.
Julia lives in Seattle with her two sons. She is emotionally getting confidence back since her automobile accident in July 1986.

Daughters Grace and Laurie both live and work in the Orange County area. In 1987, Julius^ esophogus completely closed off in April for eight hours. We started the prayer chains in the Japanese churches. When he arrived at the hospital entrance he was able to swallow saliva for the f i r s t time in eight hours. Relaxants were given in pills and three quarts of green milky medicine for an ulcer located at the end of the esophogus and into the top stomach area. Three weeks later, in May, Julius had to swallow a small camera. The diagnosis was a healed ulcer. He has had no problem
since April. Praise God!
Then summer and camp season was upon us and we rejoice in five wonderful camps at the Karuizawa area and then three camps in September and one in November. We are writing this newsletter here in Karuizawa as we need to

the coldest months and have had snow camps in the past. Daughter and son John came and helped in camps during the summer months.
On September 4 an urgent phone call came from the states concerning a family matter and Virginia l e f t on a night plane. In the states, three weeks later, Virginia learned she had a heart problem, high blood pressure and high chloresterol and tricyclerides and her blood sugar was 60 points above maximum. She was given two new blood pressure medicines and placed on a 1200 calorie diet. Three weeks later when Virginia-'s physician examined her, the tests showed all levels down but the blood pressure was still too high. She was given medicines for November and December and ordered to come back in January. The physician is an outstanding internist and cardiologist and once again we found "God saves us in all our troubles". Our U.S. family problem i s also being resolved by God'^s
grace.
