I initially enrolled in an Arts degree, but while studying, decided to pursue my interest in the nancial sector, by picking up a business major in banking and nance. As well as developing strong skills I need to be successful in nancial services, I also learned valuable skills in project management, delivery and teamwork, which are the building blocks for a successful career.
What I love about studying at Monash is the exible and career-focused degree options that provide both personalisation and depth. The expertise of the lecturers is unsurpassed and being surrounded by academics of such intellectual excellence coupled with their passion to teachis enthusing. Monash also offers a wide range of scholarships and I am thankful for being awarded one as it has given me the motivation to achieve my goals without worrying too much about the nancial encumbrance of studying in Melbourne. The opportunity to participate in leadership programs, most notably the Vice Chancellors Ancora Imparo Program and the Accounting and Finance Leadership Program has been a truly enriching experience. This privilege has not only broadened my perspectives but has prepared me for future leadership roles.

Experience STARdom
The Simulated Teaching and Research Laboratory (STARLab) is a purpose-built facility, at Monash Universitys Cauleld campus. We have two STARLabs on campus, which run a suite of nancial simulation programs. The STARLabs complement classroom teaching by simulating a nancial environment, where textbook concepts are brought to life. Students are exposed to situations in the simulated stock market, and develop responses using a variety of nancial instruments to hedge risks and seek prots in competition with other traders. The STARLabs offer students hands-on application of nancial decision-making, and are used in units covering general market operations, equity markets, nancial and portfolio management, and bond markets. More recent applications have expanded into deeper risk management strategies using options and other derivatives as well as climate change and emissions trading.
