Libraries today have evolved to play vital roles in communities and academia alike, as a result of ever emerging advancements in technology and the steady shift of perspectives. Present-day libraries are not just a place where sources of information are shelved; it is a knowledge centre where patrons have access to data in more ways than just through the conventional way of lending books. The insurgence of new tools and technologies has paved a rather challenging path for libraries and librarians in terms of digitising information and storing information in the cloud. Additionally, there are challenges of reduced funding, and promoting the value of libraries. Such challenges question the future of libraries and reiterate the need for libraries to adapt to modern information technologies.

Libraries need to grow, adapt to new changes and implement them to grow with technology. With libraries switching more hard copy data to web-accessible information, communicating to clients itself poses as a challenge. These workshops will help you to: Apply relevance and best practices for digitisation Better understand the role of Cloud Computing for libraries Effectively manage data storage and cloud security Grasp where libraries are headed Explore the dynamics of the 21st Century librarian
