Reflection The assignment for my LGA course in this semester requested us to have a story telling by using digital story

telling that we have created. I have chosen The Goldilocks and the three bears to be my topic presented due to its suitability in Year 3 classroom. When I firstly received the task, I was quite delighted and it was acceptable as I was given a chance to present a story in front of other. It was totally a new thing for me. However, I was still nervous as our lecturer would have a higher expectation to us. I scared I would disappointed my lecturer as I could not achieve her target, however I tried my best by learning new things and included them in this story telling. After I had presented my story telling, my peers have given me some comments towards my presentation. They have praised my voice projection. My voice projection was good and loud enough. In my point of view, voice projection is vital to arouse pupils attention. Teacher who is failing to have pupils attention is considered a failure. Therefore, voice projection should be loud and clear. Speaking of my instruction, it was clear and simple. I have my pupils attention by giving them a simple and clear instruction such as Pupils, are you ready for a story-telling today? They all seem excited. Besides that, my intonation was good; sometime I can use high peek or low peek to make my story more interesting. In order to tell a story, we are required to practice our pace during story-telling. The pace should be moderate, not too fast and not too slow so that pupils are able to catch what we have presented. Therefore, I have used a moderate pace during my story-telling. Hence, it was a good start and practice for me. However, there are still rooms for improving my story telling. First of all is about my position should not be too far from the slide. I should point to the characters on the slide when I present my story. This will let the students understand clearer about the story and what are the characters are doing. Besides that,I should bring some materials during presenting my story-telling. For example of my story The Goldilocks and the three bears, I can use mask to present my story such as goldilocks mask and three bears mask. The students

will get more interested in the story telling. In addition, I was not good at controlling my power point slide; it did not go smoothly with my story presented. Some sound effects that I put in the slides did not come out during the story telling. I should practice more with my power point slide before the real presentation. Practicing is important since practice makes perfect. Conclusion, this task is good for me to learn my strength and weaknesses in order to improve my story-telling skills later when I am presenting my story in classroom. The strengths and the weaknesses that I have gained would be my guidance in future. I should be flexible in applying my teaching skills and experiences gained in my future classroom to avoid making mistake again. As a teacher trainee now, I should work hard and put effort in gaining my knowledge and experience.
