PROJECTS EXECUTED
a. Nationwide Voters Education Campaign towards the INEC’s computerized Register
of voters.

b. Initiated and Supervised the Nationwide Campaign on the National Identity Card
Project.

c. Initiated and Executed the All Parties Conference in February 2003.

d. Initiated and Supervised the Agency’s Campaign on ``Know Your Parties`` a


programme designed to educate Nigerians on the names and symbols of all the
registered Political Parties in Nigeria both in 2003 and 2007.

e. Initiated and Coordinated the national conference on the Nigeria Police and the Civil
Society – Building Partnership For the 2007 General Election and Beyond on
December 1 2006 at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

f. Initiated and Coordinated a Two-day Civil Society Roundtable on the 2007 General
Election which was held in January 19, 2007 at the Rock View Hotel, Abuja.

g. Initiated and has been Chairperson, National Technical Committee on Civic


Education which was inaugurated in January 2006 by the then Honourable Minister
of Information and National Orientation Mr. Frank Nweke Jnr.

 Secured fund for the development and subsequent review of the Civic
Education Manual with the support of the USAID
 Facilitated the development and circulation of a national curriculum on
Civic Education
 Production of text-books on civic education from primary 1 to Senior
Secondary School SSS3
 Achievement of national consensus on the critical relevance of civic
education as a major infrastructural requirement for the development and
sustenance of Democracy in Nigeria
 Implementation of Community Civic empowerment Programme (Political
Education/Governance Programme) in twelve communities in Delta,
Bayelsa and Rivers States

h. Initiated and has been Chairperson, Government/Civil Society Partnership


Programme which is currently implementing a World Bank Supported Governance

Programme in eight Pilot states. The Committee was formally inaugurated on January
2006 by the then Hon. Minister of Information and National Orientation Mr. Frank
Nweke Jnr. The Committee has produced a Budget Tracking Training Manual which
is part of a Civil Society Capacity Building Programme aimed at encouraging the
demand side of governance.
i. Convened the First Retreat for Civil Society organisation in Nigeria
j. Organized the first interface between the SSS and the Civil Societies in Nigeria
k. Built the Capacity of NGOs on governance in eight States (ie Lagos. Cross River,
Bauchi, Kwara, Kaduna, Kano, Anambra, FCT.)

N.B Please note that funding of the Agency’s voters education efforts in 2003 and
2004 general and local Governments elections respectively, as well as the
Governance were entirely from donor agencies. I was singularly responsible for these.

projecting the then Government’s free health service. My job also involved liaison with
the mass media and the publication of handbills and booklets on the Health Programme.
One of such publications was “Building a Healthy Society: The Ogun State Example”.
The booklet was an appraisal of the Health Policy.
