Jung Typology Test

According to Carl Jung's typology, all people can be characterized using the following three criteria:

Extraversion - Introversion Sensing - Intuition Thinking - Feeling

Isabel Briggs Myers added a fourth criterion:

Judging - Perceiving

These four criteria are called dichoto!ies since each of the! represent a continuu! between two opposite poles" The first criterion, Extraversion Introversion, signifies the source and direction of a person#s energy e$pression" An e$tra%ert#s source and direction of energy e$pression is !ainly in the e$ternal world, while an intro%ert has a source of energy !ainly in their own internal world" The second criterion, Sensing Intuition, represents the !ethod by which so!eone percei%es infor!ation" &ensing !eans that a person !ainly belie%es infor!ation he or she recei%es directly fro! the e$ternal world" Intuition !eans that a person belie%es !ainly infor!ation he or she recei%es fro! the internal or i!aginati%e world" The third criterion, Thinking Feeling, represents how a person processes infor!ation" Thin'ing !eans that a person !a'es a decision !ainly through logic" (eeling !eans that, as a rule, he or she !a'es a decision based on e!otion, i"e" based on what they feel they should do" The fourth criterion, Judging Perceiving, reflects how a person i!ple!ents the infor!ation he or she has processed" Judging !eans that a person organizes all of his life e%ents and, as a rule, stic's to his plans" )ercei%ing !eans that he or she is inclined to i!pro%ise and e$plore alternati%e options" The different possible co!binations of preferences deter!ine si$teen personality types" *ach type can be assigned an acrony! +or for!ula, according to the first letters of the co!bination of the preferences in each of the four criteria" (or e$a!ple: ISTJ - Introvert Sensing Thinking Judging -r: ENFP - Extravert iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving .u!an!etrics# Jung Typology Test/ deter!ines an indi%idual's personality type and scores the e$pressi%eness of preferences in of each of the three Jungian di!ensions +*$tra%ersion %s" Intro%ersion, &ensing %s" Intuition, Thin'ing %s" (eeling, as well of the additional di!ension +Judging %s" )ercei%ing, proposed by Isabel Briggs Myers" The scales of dichoto!ies represent a continuu! between two opposite poles, fro! 011 at one pole to 011 at the opposite pole" I"e" the *$tra%ert2 Intro%ert di!ension is a continuu! fro! 011 on *$tra%ersion +i"e" a respondent is 0113 e$tra%ert, to 011 on Intro%ersion +i"e" a respondent is 0113 intro%ert," In other words, the scale is 411 units long: Extravert 50113 2 2 2 13 2 2 2 01136 Introvert Most indi%iduals possess features of both poles but typically ha%e a preference of one way o%er the other" The letter indicates the direction of the preference and the percentage indicates the strength of the preference toward one pole o%er the other" The *2I score of 13 !eans the respondent is on the borderline between being an e$tra%ert and an intro%ert" .a%ing an *$tra%ersion score of greater than 1 2 e"g" 413 2 !eans being 413 !ore slanted toward *$tra%ersion o%er Intro%ersion" .a%ing an Intro%ersion score of greater than 1 2 e"g" 413 2 !eans being 413 !ore slanted toward Intro%ersion o%er *$tra%ersion" The sa!e pertains to the &27, T2(, and J2) dichoto!ies"
