A fault condition is indicated with the green LED extinguished and the red LED on. The unit should be returned for repair. Note that even with the green LED extinguished the unit will still provide protection with the filter and load side MOVs. Note: If the supply cord of this equipment is damaged, the equipment must be returned to the supplier for repair.

Product Description
Novaris power surge filters protect against induced transient overvoltages caused by lightning and other events on AC mains power supply circuits. Additional protection is included for a telephone circuit enabling total protection of FAX and modem devices in one convenient unit.

Operation
Multistage transient protection is utilised in every power surge filter. Metal oxide varistors, as the first stage, absorb the majority of the energy. These components are continuously monitored for integrity. The first stage is followed by a low pass LC filter that further attenuates the let through voltage. The filter also attenuates low-level noise and harmonics. The third stage consists of metal oxide varistors. These provide a final clamping circuit and protect against impulses generated by connected loads. There are two power outlets, orientated to enable plug pack adapters to be fitted. The filter is rated at 13 amps. Do not exceed this rating. All versions incorporate telephone line protection two RJ11 connectors connect to the incoming line and the FAX or modem. Telephone protection consists of gas filled arresters providing both common and transverse mode protection. This circuit is referenced to the mains earth thereby creating a common earth point, essential for effective protection. The telephone protection circuit will fail-safe should an extreme overvoltage be encountered. Under such circumstances return the unit for replacement. Two LED indicators are included on all models. The red LED indicates that power is present. The green LED indicates that the unit is operating normally and that the main metal oxide varistors are intact and operational.
