1 Introduction
Company and its senior management are committed to ensuring that all members of staff are
fully trained in the skills required for them to carry out their normal duties. As a consequence
of this, Company encourages all of its staff members to undergo a Training Needs Analysis
(TNA - Appendix A). Once the TNA has been completed, if certain skills are lacking a Training
Plan & Strategy (Appendix A) will be undertaken.
2 Purpose
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that all staff member’s are aware that certain skills
will be required of them to carry out their normal duties and that if they do not have those
skills, then Company will undertake a Training Plan & Strategy to ascertain whether internal or
external training is required or not.
3 Scope
The following procedure principally applies to all Company members of staff and:
A. New employees, upon their induction into the company.
B. Any member of staff that intends to change his/her position within the company.
4 Definitions
"TNA": Training Needs Analysis. An analysis of a member of staff, the skills
they currently have and the ones they need as required by the ‘Job
Description’.
“Job Description”: A document which outlines the duties and skills required to carry out
the job in question.
5 Actions
Company recognises its moral and legal responsibilities to provide training for its employees
especially when it comes to workplace occupational safety & health. All members of staff will
undergo relevant training in regards to the skills required as outlined in their Job Description.
6 Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of all members of staff, the employee, Company and its senior
management to ascertain whether certain skills are required for each position within the
company. The skills required for each position will be stated in the Job Description document
for each member of staff.

training and forms part of your Personal Development.
