DANGEROUS GOODS REGULATIONS

About The Course The Dangerous Goods Regulations course is a mandatory course for Shippers, Packers, Freight Forwarders, Expressing Handling Companies, Postal and Airline personnel. The course is made mandatory Internationally by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and administered and enforced nationally by the Department of Civil Aviation. The Dangerous Goods Regulations programs offered by Learning Evolution Sdn. Bhd is approved by the Department of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Transport Malaysia. Reference: (5) DCA/KES/6/02 (S) Vol. 3 dated 12th August 2011 Course Content: Applicability of the DG Regulations Limitations Classification of Dangerous Goods Identification of dangerous goods Packing Marking & Labelling Documentation Handling Examination Methodology: Lectures, Group discussion & Presentation, Sase Studies, Written Exercises, Video Clips on dangerous goods For Whom: Shippers and persons undertaking the responsibilities of shippers Packers Staff of Freight Forwarders involved in processing dangerous goods Staff of Freight Forwarders involved in processing non dangerous goods Staff of Freight Forwarders involved in handling, storage or loading of cargo Operators and Ground Handling staff accepting dangerous goods Operators and Ground Handling staff accepting non-dangerous goods Operators and Ground Handling Agents involved in handling, storage, and loading of cargo, mail, company stores and baggage. Security staff who deal with screening of passengers, baggage, cargo, mail or stores All DGR course certificates are valid for 24 months and must be renewed by re-attending the course.

TRAINERS BIODATA Wilfred Vaz is the leading Dangerous Goods Regulations and Air Cargo Logistics Consultant in the country. He has over 22 years experience with Mas Cargo Operations and 13 years with Mas Academy. At the Academy he was instrumental in spearheading Air Cargo Logistics training for the industry. Among the most significant is the enhancement of Safety & Security in the Aviation Industry through the Dangerous Goods Regulations. The policy of mandatory training in this discipline regulated and enforced by the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation has been embraced by Shippers, Freight Forwarders and Airlines in the country. Wilfred holds the IATA Air Cargo Diploma (Distinction) and IATA Certificates in Dangerous Goods Regulations (Distinction), Cargo Skills & Procedures (Distinction), Advanced Cargo Skills & Procedures (Distinction), Air Cargo Management (Distinction) & Professional Skills for Instructors(Distinction).He also holds a Masters in Marketing (University of Northumbria, Newcastle, U.K.) and the MCILT (Member, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport). He was a member of the IATA Dangerous Goods Training Task Force form 2005-2008. He was a member of the SIRIM Working Group on Dangerous Goods transportation from 19982008. He held the position of Chairman of the Organising Committee of the first National Level Dangerous Goods Seminar & Conference in 2000 organised under the auspices of SIRIM.
