Course Overview

This course has primarily been developed to ensure that persons holding an Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in the trades of Electrical Mechanics or Electrical Fitting are pro- vided with the skills and knowledge to be issued with a West- ern Australian Electrician License.

Participants in this qualification are typically migrants seeking to apply for Western Australian Electrician’s License in order to gain entry into the Western Australian Electrotechnology Industry. Typically they will have undergone a skilled migration process involving the Vocational Education Training Assessment Scheme (VETASSESS) or be part of the Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) program.

The qualification is also designed for those who have been advised by the Western Australian Electrical Licensing Board to undergo a competency assessment.

The course is divided into two quite distinct “units of competency” which are delivered over two 40 hour periods.
