BYBELSE GETUIES IN DIE KJV.

On the following pages are the names of the 12 tribes of Israel (and Josephs two sons, among whom the tribe of Joseph was split) as listed and illustrated in the extensive genealogical tables in the front of original copies of the 1611 KING JAMES BIBLE (most facsimile copies do not reproduce the genealogies section).
While Naphtili may look like a dog or a horse, it is actually a female deer. Older heraldic representations sometimes were not the best. I would point out that the translators chose one symbol for each tribe, though several symbols could have been chosen in some cases (due to various passages of Scripture). While Levis legacy was to share in Simeons weapons of cruelty, Levi was also given the care of the teaching of the Law and Gods Word. It seems the translators also depicted Gad with a Banner that a Troup (brigade, battalion) might carry; since a whole troup would have been harder to illustrate. It was not the translators intention to give an exhaustive depiction of all of the tribal symbols or emblems; but the fact that they displayed the symbols of the tribes of Israel exactly how European nations have depicted their own national symbols is no coincidence.

Die leeu is tot so n mate n nasionale simbool vir die Switsers,dat hulle n 9 m lang, 6 m ho leeumonument opgerig het ter ere van die 900 lede van die Switserse Wag,* wat op 10 Augustus 1792 gesneuwel het terwyl hulle tydens die begin van die Franse Rewolusie die Franse Koninklike Gesin beskerm het in die Tuilerie-paleis aan die Seinerivier in Parys. Bertel Thorwaldsen het die monument in Rome ontwerp en die model daarvan aangestuur. Die ontwerp is toe deur Lukas Ahorn uitgekap in n krans van soliede sandsteen bokant n waterpoel in Luzern, Switzerland. Die algehele ontwerp en die kommissie daarvan is hoofsaaklik te danke aan die pogings van Kolonel Pfyffer, wat een van die oorlewendes van die massamoord was. Die model staan in die tuin van Pfyffer se huis. Die Leeumonument stel n massiewe leeu voor met n gebreekte spies in sy sy, besig om te sterf bo-op n skild met die fleur-de-lis op, (asook n ander skild daarnaas, met die Switserse kruis op), en swaarde, spiese, en hellebaarde. Die land Joegoe-Slawi is n kunsmatige samestelling van brokstukke van lande uit die ou Oostenryks-Hongaarse Ryk, onder andere Serbi (Serwi), Kroasi, Sloweni, Montenegro (Swartberge), Masedoni, (Makedoni) en BosniHerzegowina. Die grootste gedeelte van die gebied was oorspronklik die Serbiese Ryk. [Die Serbiese en Montenegriese ryke bestaan reeds baie lank.] Die Dalmasi Istria, Kroasi Serbiese taal is dieselfde as Kroaties, behalwe dat Serbies in Kurilliese letters geskryf is (netsoos Russies en ou Kerk-Slawies) (tans gebruik die Serbe albei alfabete), en Kroaties is in die Romeinse alfabet geskryf.
