Chief Financial Officer Lead full-scope Finance function, including financial planning and analysis, accounting operations, financial reporting, budgets and forecasts, credit and collections, treasury, tax, Human Resources functions (compensation, benefits, employee relations) and IT (implementation of systems, servers, documentation and training). Develop strong relationships with external accountants and bankers. Recruit, develop and manage 7 staff. Reduced workforce ($350K) and improved timeliness of information and decision making by upgrading operational infrastructure/production system to more closely track production against sales orders. Streamlined both manual and computerized procedures. Slashed inventory carrying costs ($100K) and enabled direct factory contact that enhanced quality control and delivery scheduling by establishing a China-based office. Co-managed Manhattan HQ and manufacturing affiliates in North Carolina. Scope included Inventory Control, Finance, Accounting, Purchasing, and IT oversight with emphasis on gaining production efficiencies. Managed 5 total staff.
Created weekly budget reports that accelerated cost cutting and production efficiencies ($30K). Aligned purchasing and production (by developing a real-time inventory system, a budgeting system, and effective financial tools. Strengthened cash flow ($150K) by refinancing debt to more closely match revenue stream. Improved production and staff efficiency ($130K) by designing new operations processes, and championing and implementing an enterprise wide cross-training initiative.
