Strike together to beat Tory austerity

FULL NAME PHONE/ EMAIL UNION (AND POSITION IF ANY)

UNITE THE RESISTANCE

As the Tories relentlessly continue their vicious assault on working class people, striking workers are showing how we can fightback. This week, firefighters will take to the picket lines again in their continuing strikes to defend pensions and the fire service. Teachers have struck to defend education and pay, as have higher education workers who are out again on 3 December. Probation workers in NAPO union struck over privatisation.

Weve seen a spate of inspiring local strikes, for example the solid action at Hovis that defeated zero hours contracts, the unofficial walkout of Glasgow social care workers who won reinstatement as well as many others. Postal workers have also voted massively for strikes in the wake of privatisation of Royal Mail. By developing solidarity for every group of workers fighting back, we can build up the pressure and momentum for a united fightback that can win.
