Matthew 6:19-21, 19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. THE GENEROSITY FACTOR Money is not just a secular, nancial issue; it is a profoundly theological, spiritual issue. Therefore, we are taking six weeks to explore The Generosity Factor, a sermon series through Nov. 24 that will help us discover how Gods view of money and possessions really can revolutionize our lives. FREE PARENTING SEMINAR - FRUITFUL PARENTING ! TONIGHT! Tonight at the Dahlonega Market Place, Kristy and McKay Caston will be leading a free parenting seminar from 5:30-7:00 p.m. This free event is open to anyone in the community. Limited childcare will be available at the church ofce on the Square. PLEDGE SUNDAY ! NOVEMBER 24 At the conclusion of our present sermon series, next Sunday, November 24, everyone committed to supporting the mission of the gospel through Creekstone will be asked to make a pledge toward what they intend to give toward the mission in 2014 as God provides. This will help us plan effectively for stewarding Gods resources as we prepare for particularization. Envelopes will be provided. Please be in prayer and discussion with your family as we approach this special time of worship together. DISASTER RELIEF To provide practical grace for people affected by the disaster in the Philippines, just go here: http://www.mtw.org/Pages/Disasterphilippines.aspx GIFT WRAPPING MINISTRY ! Mark 9:41, For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will by no means lose his reward. (ESV) 1 Timothy 6:17-19, 17 As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. 18 They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION & DISCUSSION
1) 2) 3) 4) 5) How does giving make you feel? Describe the emotions, both negative and positive. What did Jesus give and why? How does it make you feel when you hear that you are his treasure? If you knew that what you gave away would bring you a 10,000% return in heaven, what would you do with more of your money? What is God leading you to pledge to the mission of the gospel in 2014 from what you expect him to entrust to you nancially?
