Judging

System
Produced by: Christian Justilien for The Junkanoo Cooperation of New Providence (JCNP)











This new judging system provides a clear understanding on
the evaluation process for all participants, judges, and
spectators. Addressed are the following

Scoring determined out of 100% for each category and


sub-category

Participants will now exactly how they are being judge

Participants will be judged from the same vantage


point

Judges will be elevated above the parade for a more


accurate audio & visual perception

All judges will meet a minimum qualification


requirement in their area of expertise as set by the
JCNP

Have all judged categories will be weighed into the


final out-come of the parades

There will be no need for training of judges as they are


being engaged from a pool of experts in the community

SCORING

All considerations will be clearly defined and laid out for participants and judges.

Participant will be able to tell, at a glance, strong or weak areas of performance

Scores in all categories and Sub-categories will not exceed 100%

Scores automatically weighed using mathematical formulas for instant and absolute
accuracy

Overall final score will not exceed 100%

EVALUATION (Rating)
SUPERIOR = 91 - 100
VERY GOOD = 81 - 90
GOOD = 71 - 80
AVERAGE = 61 - 70
BELOW AVERAGE = 0 - 60

Overall winner will be determined based on the following percentage breakdown. Please note that
ALL categoties clearly contribute to overall win. Free dancer and off-shoulder dancer categories
eligibility minimum numbers requirements will give consideration towards final 5% for group total



*PENALTIES WILL BE DUDUCTED FROM OVERALL TOTAL

Final total will be rounded up to the nearest whole number in cases of .5 scores.
All eligibility penalties must be administered at the gate
There will be no disqualification of groups under this system
