Met in Closed Session to discuss pending litigation, student expulsion cases, and labor negotiations Congratulated the following students for being selected as the November 2013 Students of the Month: Cyril Osifo-Doe, K.I. Jones Elementary School Nikolas Angeles, Crescent Elementary School Jade Vanta, Laurel Creek Elementary School Ananya Yogi, Nelda Mundy Elementary School Heard reports from the following student representatives regarding activities at their schools: Rassim Chettfour, Armijo High School Kelsie Savko, Fairfield High School Raiza Balancio, Rodriquez School Heard a report from Solano County Office of Education Assistant Superintendent Lisette EstrellaHenderson regarding the countys annual inspection of District schools in Deciles 1-3 (Williams Lawsuit Settlement pertaining to sufficient instructional materials, facilities maintenance, teacher assignments) Heard a report from Superintendent Corey during which she recognized District staff members Marylou Wilson, Rob Martinez, Roxane Liu, and Kay Hartley, who presented at a recent Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) conference; reported on a recent visit to Grange Middle School by a group from the California School Boards Association; and noted that yesterday the Public Safety Academy hosted a seminar for representatives from state agencies and school districts from throughout the state who are interested in its program Approved the following Consent Calendar agenda items: 1. approved student expulsion case nos. 05-1314 through 08-1314 2. approved a California High School Exit Exam waiver for one special education/504 student 3. accepted donations to the District 4. approved ratification of District contracts for the month of October 2013 5. approved declaration of District obsolete and surplus equipment and authorization to sell at public auction 6. approved Personnel Action Reports 1314-8a and 1314-8b regarding certificated and classified hires, leaves, retirements, and resignations 7. approved certification of high school winter sports coaches for the 2013-2014 school year 8. approved extended day positions for fall of the 2013-2014 school year 9. approved revised job description for Bilingual School Psychologist-Intervention Specialist 10. approved the minutes of the Governing Board special meeting held October 15, 2013 and regular meeting held on October 24, 2013 11. approved Resolution No. 10-1314 to excuse Board Member Gauts attendance at the October 15, 2013 Governing Board special meeting

Reviewed the following Information agenda items: 1. new secondary course proposals for the 2014-2015 school year, which include Public Safety II and Introduction to Criminal Justice 2. new instructional materials for 2013-2014, which include Expository Reading and Writing Course: Student Reader; Left Hand of Darkness; and Into the Wild 3. monthly report on implementation status of the District Local Educational Agency (LEA) Plan on First Benchmark Assessments 4. monthly report on implementation status of the District Local Educational Agency (LEA) Plan on the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) Preparation Plan 5. budget update from Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Kelly Morgan 6. revised job description for College and Career Center Technician 7. update regarding the development of the 2014-2015 school calendar 8. listing of nominations for Board office holders and Board subcommittee/ad hoc/joint committee memberships 9. report from Grant Writer//Community Relations Coordinator Stacy Burke on the Interagency Youth Services Center at Sullivan regarding its Strategic Thinking Roadmap, Mission, and Vision
