When one is awakened to the possibilities around him, one cant help but be useful.

A strive to be useful to the best of my capacity, the tenacity to create a difference to the lives of people around me and a passion to leave this world a better place to live, have has always guided me in all my pursuits. The year 2001 marks a watershed in my life. Besides getting into IIT-Delhi that year, I was also introduced to a humanitarian based NGO - The Art of Living. What started as a week-long meditation and self-development workshop was soon to become an important tool in my hands to empower people to take control of their lives. Having seen the positive and almost miraculous effects of this workshop in drug de-addiction, boosting academic performance and getting people rid of depression and suicidal tendencies, I was convinced of its need in our present society. I pursued it with almost an evangelistic zeal and personally introduced this workshop to more than 100 students at IIT and became a volunteer for this organization. I actively participated in its hugely successful nation-wide campaign - Volunteer for Better India and secured sponsorship worth 15 lakhs for the purpose. I was involved in organizing and conducting free meditation sessions for many corporates under the Meditate India campaign. I was also active in organizing volunteer base and building public opinion in favor of India Again Corruption undertaking of the Art of Living. Apart from associating myself with these campaigns I have been dedicating my time towards organizing regular workshops, tree plantation and blood donation drives, organizing and conducting free health and happiness workshops in the slums. Last year I was graced with an honor of becoming an Art of Living teacher. The ideals of social inclusion which I practiced on the ground volunteering for AOL, also shaped my career plan to eventually become an entrepreneur, employ people and give back to the society. Started my professional career in IT with a company developing solutions for hotel industry, I moved to consulting early in my career. I have always loved to challenge myself and never restricted myself to a particular domain or technology. Ive gained wealth of invaluable consulting experience working for consulting firms like Deloitte and Sapient for projects in diverse domains such as eCommerce, US Healthcare and Global Markets for clients cutting across geographies. I am currently deployed on client site to Royal Bank of Scotland for one of the central and mission critical application having inter-linkages to both the upstream and downstream systems. My role is that of a Sr. Developer and L3 Support. It involves regular enhancements to the application and collaborating with various groups across geographies to help them seamlessly interact with our application. Quite often it necessitates holding discussion with various stakeholders to understand their system and help them restructure and reconcile their data and processes to align with our application. Becoming an answer to this challenging role in a short span of time has earned me wide appreciation from all quarters. Having spent over 8 years in IT industry implementing projects across various verticals, I have gained an in-depth understanding of the development cycle of a project till its final delivery and client acceptance. Interacting with diverse, cross cultural clients, suggesting technology solutions to their business needs, owning and participating in the success of their ideas have shaped my consulting skills. While continuing to enhance my consulting skills, I have been intrigued by the marketing and sales pursuits and have always wanted to contribute towards that. This would not only require a sound knowledge of technology but also entail an understanding of client business and how we as an organization can model our capabilities to pitch in and address their gaps and provide credible solutions. Graduating out of an MBA college I want to see myself playing the role of a Project Manager aggressively engaged in a sales pitch and seeing the project through a successful delivery. An experience of this kind will equip me in winning the confidence of the stakeholders, handling large teams, and actuating an idea from its inception to a successful product. Such an experience will thereby gear me towards my near term goal of setting up a medium scale IT enterprise. It shall help me promote business idea to the investors and collaborate with people to shape it. I am looking at an MBA program as an important step towards actualization of my current goals. At a generic level, this program will further enhance my instincts and develop a structured approach towards

identifying market gaps, refining business and product ideas and developing robust implementation plans. It will broaden perspectives and enable foundational learning at a diverse, international level of enterprise complexity and with deep insights on strategic and tactical issues. I also hope to gain insights on fostering the best organizational systems and cultures. IIM Bangalore is a premier business school comprising of diverse and vibrant student community, world class faculty and a unique range of electives. An opportunity to pursue EPGP program of IIM Bangalore will open up new vistas to interact and collaborate with the global leaders of today and tomorrow. I stand to gain immensely being exposed to such intellectually stimulating, self-challenging and capability building environment at IIM Bangalore in my due course of study. It therefore is my preferred destination of choice for MBA and it shall be a privilege to get such an opportunity.
