Definition of terms: 1. Acute time limited stressors.

Acute time-limited stressors are ones given in a controlled environment such as a lab. If you are part of a study, the tech may present you with a stimulus that causes some level of anxiety for you. This could be presenting you with something that you have a phobia of or making you do something you don't feel comfortable doing. The stressor sparks intense stress but only for the time it takes to illicit a response. 2. Appraisal. An act of assessing something or someone. 3. Behaviour. The way in which one acts or conducts oneself, specially toward others. 4. Chronic intermittent stressors. Chronic intermittent stress is presumed to be the type of stress most frequently encountered and most likely to cause physiological changes which predispose an organism to tissue damage.

5. Chronic stressors. Chronic stressors are situations that happen that force you to change your identity or social roles. If you become disabled, you will need to adjust your life to accommodate your disabilities.

6. Coping. In psychology, coping is expending conscious effort to solve personal and interpersonal problems, and seeking to master, minimize or tolerate stress or conflict. 7. Distress. is a negative stress brought about by constant readjustments or alterations in a routine.

8. Eustress. is a positive stress that arises when motivation and inspiration are needed

9. Hyperstress. Hyperstress occurs hwen an individual is pushed beyond what he or she can handle. Hyperstress results from being overloaded or overworked.

10. Hypostress. The stress which is caused by boredom or lack of motivation.

11. Interpersonal Conflicts. Interpersonal conflict is an important concept. Thus, it is important to define interpersonal conflict.

12. Knowledge & Skills. A high level of proficiency in ones military specialty is mandatory for leaders in command and other direct-leadership positions.

13. Learning environment. The physical or virtual setting in which learning takes place.

14. Management of the subject.

15. Perception. It is the way you think about or understand someone or something.

16. Pre-service teachers. Preservice teachers are typically required to observe mentor teachers in authentic K-12 classrooms with the hope of collaborating and learning about teaching.

17. Psychophysiological. The branch of physiology dealing with the relationship between physiological processes and thoughts, emotions, and behaviour.

18. Stress. Stress is a person's response to a stressor such as an environmental condition or a stimulus. Stress is a body's way to react to a challenge.

19. Stress management. Stress management refers to the wide spectrum of techniques and psychotherapies aimed at controlling a person's levels of stress, especially chronic stress, usually for the purpose of improving everyday functioning.

20. Stressors sequences. This stress sequence are environment, perception, and physiologic reactions.

21. Type A Behaviour. The Type A behaviour pattern is an observable set of behaviours or style of living characterized by extremes of hostility,

competitiveness, hurry, impatience, restlessness, aggressiveness (sometimes stringently suppressed), explosiveness of speech, and a high state of alertness accompanied by muscular tension.

22. Type B Behaviour. The theory describes Type B individuals as a contrast to those with Type A personalities. People with Type B personality by definition generally live at a lower stress level and typically work steadily, enjoying achievement but not becoming stressed when they are not achieved. When faced with competition, they do not mind losing and either enjoy the game or back down. They may be creative and enjoy exploring ideas and concepts. They are often reflective, thinking about the outer and inner worlds.
