SAP Drill-down reporting is a reporting tool that allows interactive evaluation of data in Profitability Analysis. The required datasets can be selected using any characteristic from the CO-PA system and reported on any key figures using the drill-down function. Several profitability segments can be displayed for one key figures or several key figures for one segment can be displayed. It is also possible to perform variance analysis such as plan/actual comparisons, fiscal year comparisons, or comparisons of profitability segments. In drill-down reporting, it is possible to display both reports with a simple, fixed layout i.e. basic reports, and reports with a more complex structure and formatting i.e. form reports. The drill-down functions are divided into three groups, each with a different scope. Each user can choose or be assigned the function level that suits the user's requirements. The menus and the functions available in the drill-down report are user-friendly. Graphical report Output Classic report drilldown Object list (ALV)

4. COPA Report
The drill-down reporting tool is a simple toll that helps to define reports. It also offers functions required to create complex and formatted reports. These reports have a predefined basic structure for general use. There two types of reports possible.

Form based reports are defined on the basis of forms. Forms are independent objects that can be used for different reports. There are different types of forms, which differ in terms of what elements are defined where in their structure. Basic reports do not require the use of a form. When you define a basic report, only the characteristics, characteristic values, and key figures needed have to be selected. Basic Report Menu Path Transaction codes Easy Access - > Accounting -> Controlling -> Profitability Analysis -> Information System -> Define Report -> Create Profitability Report KE31

In the first screen a selection can be made as to what type of report is to be created, by selecting the appropriate radio button. In the next screen the characteristics that are to be displayed in the selection screen must be select.

In the next tab key figures, the value field that are to be displayed in the report are to be selected. There is an option to also select key figures from a key figure schema.

In the tab page Variables, it is possible to define default values for the fields available on the selection screen. It can also be defined if the default values can be overwritten by the user.

In the tab page Output type, it is possible to select the type of output format which should be used when the report results are displayed. It is possible to predefine the format. It is also possible to allow the user to be given the choice at the time of execution.

Column / Row Element definition can be accessed by double clicking on the respective row / column header. Here the value field is to be mentioned and also additional row specific constraints inters of characteristic values can be mentioned.

5. Financial Analytics in SAP BI

Conventional two dimensional databases have severe limitations when dealing with huge volume of data. There are severe performance constraints in using them in such situations. Data warehouse applications are specially designed to handle large volumes of data. They have a multi-dimensional structure unlike conventional databases (2 dimensional). In a mature system landscape, transaction processing systems are connected to Conventional databases. Data from these databases are transferred on a periodic basis to the data warehouse server. The data warehouse server can be set up to extract only select data from the database server. The data is and transformed and loaded into info cubes.

Data warehouse reporting tools can be used to define report based on the info cubes. SAP Business Information Warehouse is a data warehouse product from SAP. The tool has been specially designed to hold relevant business content, therefore making it easy to deploy and also more meaning for users. All systems that provide data to the Business information warehouse are called source systems. Often COPA module in SAP is set up as a source system for SAP BIW systems. This is preferred system architecture especially when the data volume sin COPA are high.
