Overview: Students will reinforce their knowledge of the language through hands on acti!ities and through oral practice. "uring the course# students will demonstrate listening# speaking# reading and writing skills a$out the following topics% &'ouse and home & (he communit) & *ccidents and emergencies &'ispanic art and histor) &Sports and free time &(he ancient ci!ili+ations of the *mericas &*rgentina and the "irt) ,ar Students will $egin the course re!iewing grammar and !oca$ular) learned in Spanish -. (hroughout this course# students will learn to use the following grammatical structures% the conditional tense# the su$juncti!e# por ) para# commands# and more. Course Description: (he content of this course# which is taught mostl) in Spanish# de!elops the skills of speaking# listening# reading# and writing. (he first half of the course includes an accelerated re!iew of grammar forms# while the second half of the course focuses on communication skills. Students communicate a$out e!er)da) life situations. .nstructors emphasi+e speaking $) assigning skits# projects# and spontaneous communicati!e acti!ities. Students will also impro!e writing skills through the completion of creati!e essa)s and thematic compositions. Cultural content includes short stories# music# and films related to the 'ispanic world. .nstruction and student responses are mostl) in Spanish. /uch work is done in pairs and small groups. *ssessment includes tests and 0ui++es# projects# oral e1ercises# written reports# and class participation. 2ral and3or written homework 425 -5 minutes6 is assigned dail).
