MOTIVATION LETTER

As a university student majoring in French Literature, I am very interested in applying for the Global Youth Ambassador Program provided by AIESEC EXPERIENCE. Not only because of what I have learned for two years of my study in Universitas Gadjah Mada is influencing me to know (travel and learn) other parts of the world, but I have had this desire since I can remember. My first reason to join AIESECs program is the opportunity to travel. All my life I have been living in Indonesia, except for some minor holidays in Singapore and Malaysia (which is near my country). I have a great passion in meeting new people from different backgrounds and to step my feet in a foreign place or country, to know and learn their culture, and this program absolutely provided this experience. I have never traveled so far before (as to Europe or America for example) and I have never involved in any exchange program before, so to be able to do this would be a new and precious experience for me. If I am selected to participate in this exchange program, I will have the opportunity to learn about so many different culture backgrounds, meeting new people, work and cooperate with them, connecting to youths or people around the world, and I could enhance interest in global issues as well as broader general knowledge and insight. This improvement in knowledge and insight would be useful in my home university, in enriching the quality of my study and development of myself. Besides that, by being different culturally and learning in a different cultural context, I could communicate cultural diversity and improve my cross-cultural skills to intensify better understanding. This way I hope both sides could exhibit a strong cultural identification, open up a possibly useful networking opportunity. Thank you for your consideration.
