Friday 15th November OPEN EVENING Open Evening is 19th November.

No appointments are necessary just come and have a look at the work and chat to the teacher if you want to. Mrs Thurston will also be available to talk to regards special needs. ATTENDANCE The school target is 95%. Last weeks attendance was 94.49% which is below our target so come on everyone lets try harder. We need to keep this up 5 Leicester got 97.46%, 6 Cambridge 96.67%, 1 Manchester 96.66%, 4 Nottingham 96.62%, 3 Durham 96.10%, 5 Derby 95.50% and 3 Newcastle 95.47%. Well done to all of these classes. Remember we have our walking buses to help. LUNCHTIMES Our catering is provided by Cityserve. They have recently changed the menu and want feedback to help provide what the children want. You will have had a letter about this. Please complete so we can provide food the children want. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need parent volunteers who could come on school trips it may not be your childs year group! If you are interested in helping please give your name into the office with which days you are free to support with this. Wed be very grateful.

CHILDREN IN NEED This was a great success today and we will let you know how much was raised next week. Thank you for your generosity. BELL HEATH A big thank you to Miss Hawkins, Miss Edwards, Mrs Tilley & Miss Green for giving up their time and to be away from their families in order to take the Y5 & Y6 girls to Bell Heath. They had a wonderful time and did lots of exciting activities. Im looking forward to running this trip again next year.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS Letters will be coming home about a home learning club, a maths club and two new PE clubs. It would be great if we get lots of children wanting to take part. AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING Some of the Year 6 children are receiving tutoring from Birmingham University Graduates. It is proving very successful with childrens progress really doing well. If your child has the opportunity to do this to improve their grades, please complete the form. HOME LEARNING Thank you to the parents who are supporting their child with their home learning. Mr Samuel is running a before and after school home learning club for some children. if you are unsure of what your child needs to do, please do not hesitate but to ask the class teacher. ENABLING ENTERPRISE We have signed up to take part in Enabling Enterprise, which is a project to enable students to succeed through enterprise. The children will be working in school and with businesses to ensure that from a young age they are developing resilience, empathy and enterprise skills that will help for the rest of their lives. Ask your child what theyve been doing in enterprise on a Friday afternoon.
