Description of Program:
Project UNPLUG is one of the many PBoXes of AIESEC Davao which promotes Energy Conservation. It has a three-fold mission: to raise awareness about the Energy Crisis in Mindanao, to synergize with the citizens of Davao City in alleviating this situation and to educate the citys youth about Energy Conservation. It envisions making an impact in the society in order to create a greener environment through an international perspective. The project consists of three Cycles or phases. It also takes six weeks to complete per cycle. During this time, the Exchange Participants will undergo three activities: Community Immersion, Research Finalization and Peer Education. First, the EPs will visit a barangay and conduct a survey about the Energy Consumption of the residents. Second, they will compile the data they have collected and make a research paper about it. Lastly, they will conduct lectures and activities about Energy Conservation to high school students. Through this, we aim to provide an avenue for the Exchange Participants to express their opinions and their countrys ideas on how to maintain Energy Efficiency and to learn that Energy Conservation is a social responsibility and it should be given with proper attention.
