The Pollack PR Marketing Group Stefan I. Pollack 1901 Avenue of the Stars #1040 Los Angeles, CA 90067 RE: The Pollack PR Marketing Group Fall 2013 Internship

Dear Mr. Pollack, Public relations is the art of compelling a complete stranger to take action, while allowing him to believe that he came to this conclusion on his own. But, as Senior Vice President and CFO of PPMG, you know this. You know that a cover letter is a pure example of the above statement. It is simple. By the end of this letter, I want you to want to hire me. It is apparent to me that it is not only beneficial but also necessary to look at the business world through a creative lens. PR is not a science, but rather, it is an art, a craft, a strategy. Being successful in PR, however, requires a comprehensive knowledge of the industry, the economic factors surrounding it, and the consumers who are in the middle of it, as well as an understanding that there is always more to be learned, more questions to be asked and more research to be done. It is once this understanding is reached that there is an opportunity to look at a set of desired results and work backwards to formulate strategic communications and marketing plans that will achieve and even exceed them. With a strong admiration for modern thinking combined with a passion for innovative creations, I am beginning my final year at USC as a public relations major with added curiosities about the worlds of marketing, visual communication, and consumer behavior. Advancing through USCs PR program during this boom of social media, it is easy to get swept up in the craze. After all, utilizing progressive media to build and enhance a message on these large platforms can be strategic, but it is only a tactic. Those companies and individuals who recognize the added value of these channels without compromising their traditional public relations strategies and expertise are the ones who will have long-term success, survive and adapt when the next big thing comes along. The importance of responding quickly to clients needs, as well as of developing positive working relationships with diverse clientele are additional skills necessary to thrive in this industry, and they cannot be overlooked. As a media relations and brand management intern at a large public relations and marketing agency, PMK*BNC, and a member of BCBGMAXAZRIAs in-house marketing team, I honed the strong communication, organization and leadership skills that make me a valuable contribution to any team. The Pollack PR Marketing Group guarantees unique, strategic, high quality services that are personal and customized to each client, and I would offer a fresh and inquisitive perspective that would add value to your team. I have attached my resume, which I believe will give you a more detailed idea of what I can bring to The Pollack PR Marketing Group. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Jaime Brookstein
