Technical Aspect
The proposal: The proposal envisages setting up of hilsha fish processing and block ice manufacturing and storage unit. The project will procure hilsha fish during peak season and these fish will usually be processed through blast freezer and kept into the store room for sale during off-peak season. But when huge quantity of hilsha fish will be found, then the fish will be simply washed and after sorting/ grading will be put into the store for processing gradually. Then the fish will be sold into the local market at ex-factory delivery basis according to demand and price position. The project will be hilsha fish storage and block ice manufacturing unit for storage of 5600 MT of hilsha fish and 29403 MT of block ice per annum. The 76% of the produced block ice will be used for projects own consumption for different processing stage and rest will be sold into the local market. The project is expected to go into commercial operation within 6 (six) months from the date of opening of Letter of Credit for imported machinery. After implementation, the project will create employment opportunity for 144 personnel of various categories. The fixed cost of the project has been estimated at Taka 1894.16 lac. Details are shown in Annexure-I. Product mix and storage capacity: The annual storage capacity of hilsha fish and production capacity of block ice based on 270 days working days in a year is given below: Sl. Technology & Manufacturing process: Block Ice: Ice can will be fitted with soft and fresh water and then placed in steel tank containing brine solution. Ammonia which circulates through cooling coils dipped in brine solution evaporates there by reducing the temperature of the surrounding brine solution to about 80C to 100A. The cool brine solution will be circulated in the ice freshing tank which freezes as raw water in the can into solid ice block. After freezing the ice cans will be removed from the tank and put into the can dump for removal of bock ice and finally delivered to the customer. Hilsha Fish: Hilsha fish will be procured during peak season. After washing, cleaning and sizing, it will be sent to blast freezer. Then it will be kept in store for marketing.
