MASK INSPECTION

Inspection and Documentation

Each individual must inspect their mask upon issue and every six months during peacetime. In a combat zone mask inspections will be conducted every seven days. Document the mask inspection on a DD Form 15 ! Condemn Mask if:

Part Interior of Mask Buckles !ront "oicemitter '(elens # 1) # 1&3 Condition Cracked, torn, deteriorated, or separated between silicone, rubber, and metal parts on the face seal (1) and face piece (3). Bent, cracked, or loose where molded into the face piece tabs. $oose, punctured, dented, cracked, or four pins are not facin% outwards. Warning: &o not attempt to loosen. *unctured or so badl( stained that normal +ision is pre+ented or if the lens has separated from the face piece.

Curled, nicked, ripped, or will not seat properl(. 2eplace if it cannot be cleaned b( wipin% dirt or moisture awa( with a soft, dr(, clean cloth. Cracked, cut, or loose at the +oicemitter. If the +al+e seats ha+e pulled awa( from nose cup, use firm pressure and reseat +al+e seats in the nose cup. 2eplace nose cup +al+es if curled or torn. Cracked or cut, or if couplin% is cracked, dented, or loose.
