ABOUT CETPE CETPE has been established with a view to impart continuous educational programmes in the field of Power Engineering. CETPE offers consultancy services and also impart training in various engineering disciplines, besides organizing periodic workshops / seminars for the benefit of practicing power engineers. CETPE is managed by highly qualified Professionals having R & D, field experience for many decades. CETPE faculty comprises of renowned experts drawn from R&D, Academic Institutions, Public & Private Utilities, Industries, etc. INTRODUCTION Sub-station equipments are vital components of electrical power system in electrical utilities, all major Industries, IT/BT industries, etc. There have been several failures of these equipments during service resulting in interruption of power supply, loss of production & revenue, eventhough the preventive maintenance works have been carried out to avoid such failures at a fixed interval of time. This has led the utilities / industries to adopt condition based maintenance of these equipments rather than usual preventive maintenance. Modern techniques are available for condition based monitoring and the concept of residual life assessment is for these equipments. This workshop is designed to provide an insight into the art and science of Operation and Maintenance of the sub-station equipments such as power transformers, instrument transformers, circuit breakers, switch gears, etc. OBJECTIVES
