An integral and innovative component of the Lakeshore welding program is that students receive instruction in under water welding. By partnering with local business (Seabrex Marine, Under Water Construction Corporation, and Wolfs Marine) the students are provided the opportunity to become PADI open water dive certified. Once certified, the students are able to further develop their underwater welding skills by working with industry professionals in a two story practice dive tank. Currently Lakeshore High School is the only school in Michigan to offer such training. It is one of the Lakeshore Technical Academys missions to place students in high skill, high wage and high demand positions. This program is further strengthened in our local community by partnering with post-secondary education institutions.
Its a once in a lifetime experience!
