Elena Rizza
Elena Rizza was born in 1981 capital of Noto in Sicily, the land full of culture and art. She grew up in a small picturesque town right by the coast, the sea and the sun providing her with plenty of artistic inspiration. You can clearly see this by looking at her work, as many of her stories and editorials take place on the beach. She loves to travel and got her first experience in the fashion world at the age of 16 when she decided to move to Milan to pursue a career in modeling. In 2005 she encountered with the famous photographer Max Salvaggio, became his apprentice, and from that moment on she dedicated all her energy into becoming a better photographer and developing her personal style of photography. In 2007 Elena won a scholarship from the internationally known school Gris Art and therefore moved to Barcelona to do a master. Nowadays she still travels and lives the life of a nomad, always looking for new things to photograph. email: elenarizza@gmail.com www.elennarizza.com

undergraduate degree in Computer Science and master degree in Artificial Intelligence and Human Resources from George Washington University Washington, DC My name is Cameron Habashian and for 8 years I have been studying photography on my own. Having a degree in computers was a natural transition to digital photography for me. Im fascinated, enthusiastic and extremely passionate about all aspects of photography but more drawn to fashion photography. I like to create fashion stories not just taking them. I want the images that are different and not too conventional. Fashion photography requires knowledge in so many areas (lighting, lens perspective, posing, model management, post production, hair/makeup and lot more) and could become very challenging. Its this challenge that gives me the drive to become a better photographer and learn more from each project.

by Egle Kudriavcevaite In order to be noticed and appreciated by someone like Armani, you better be somehow special. Therere so many, who are trying to break through the ice and get into this strict industry, but only a few succeed. So, whats so extraordinary about Azede Jean? Reason number one clash of cultures. Her father is an Italian from Turin and her mother is Haitian, so you can see traits of both cultures in the garments she designs. However, It took some time until she realized what her mark should be like. I had struggled to nd my identity. I found it through my work. I put my two worlds together and found fashion was looking for that- explained the designer. These two cultures created her signature look Wax and Stripes. Wax represents her maternal roots Haiti, while stripes - paternal roots Turin. Must be mentioned that fabrics for the outts are sourced from Burkino Faso in West Africa. Thus she supports trade workers from the poor local communities. Thats a very kind gesture, isnt It?
Have you heard about Stella Jean? If not yet, Its time to broaden your horizons, because shes todays rising star, who has been taking the fashion industry by storm in recent seasons. Stella has modeled before, but one day she realized that she wants something more and left the runway in 2010. Then she relentlessly tried to get into the fashion industry as a designer and after a couple of attempts she nally did It while winning Vogue Italias prestigious Who Is On Next fashion competition in 2011. What happened next? Well, she was spotted by Armani (yes, the same one), because of her unique and very personal style, which combines bold ethnic prints combined with elegant silhouettes. Something new, fresh and original, right? Armani thought the same way so he gave Stella a chance to present her debut collection in fall 2012 at his legendary Armani theater during Milan Fashion Week. Its really big deal because shes the rst womenswear designer who has been allowed to do so. Heres how Armani commented his decision: The new generation of Italian designers needs our support. It is for this reason that I continue to make my theatre on Via Bergognone available to them. Stella Jean will be the next designer to organize a fashion show at the Armani Teatro, and I hope this experience brings her luck.
Heres a little hint of how we should look the upcoming spring. In the Jeans Spring 2014 collection we saw something unusual. Even though her design is related to the bright colors and clashing patterns, this time the image was modied by colors toned down and replaced with mustard, aqua green or dusty blue and there were masculine details incorporated. Will you dare to dress yourself with striped shirt and mens hat? What about gigantic, golden, animal shaped medallion on? Bring It on, girl!

My customer is someone who doesnt take herself too seriously, is colorful and likes to have fun with what she wears. That is how this rising shoe (and a handful of clutches, so far) designer describes her ideal costumer. If you belong to that group - meet your designer Sophia Webster. Sophia isnt one of these self-made designers. Guess where she earned her fashion degree? If you guessed that this was Royal College of Art, you are right. Not only that one, Cordwainers too. This is truly impressive, but what is even more stupendous is the fact that her nal student collection was picked up by Browns. Then, after the graduation, for two years she worked as an assistant for Nicholas Kirkwood. This was a futurepromising job, because two years later Kirkwood helped her launch her rst collection. And here It goes, now Sophia Webster, at only 27 years old, is awarded the Conde Nast Footwear New Emerging Designer of the Year 2012 and has been given New Gen award by the British Fashion Council. Whats even more astonishing is that this year designer has been named one of the Top 100 People to Watch on The Time 2013 New Power List. Have I convinced you that she is among must-know designers?
Her debut collection, which literally brought her recognition and fame, was called Welcome to the Dollhouse. This wasnt just a title. Guests of the show had the chance to be surrounded by barbies for these couple of hours. Not mannequins, but models posing as dolls in boxes. Honestly, well chosen concept to convey femininity while showing dolls. What about the concept of these dazzling colors just like from Rio parade? Where It did come from? Well...talking about Rio, designer confessed that she was inspired by her trip to Brazil and she wanted this collection to reect that. And It did, no doubts, participants felt those vibes. Atmosphere was breathtaking so no surprise that this show put this designer on the pedestal. Ever since Sophia Webster became a brand and her shoes now are founded among prestigious, well-known todays brands.
Now we know about Sophias life, career, shows, but what about the shoes? Though designer states that her shoes convey femininity, dont get her wrong. Its not all about the heels. Well, majority, but dont worry, my friend. You can nd anything from ats to platforms. Those, who saw her collections, know, that palette consists of vibrant shades such as pastel, blue, pink, neon etc. Pieces are decorated with the shapes of Aztec prints, hearts, dots and so much more. Not to mention funky materials. Oh my God! These shoes are every girls dream. No one cant deny that these pieces of art are outstanding. You will never sit in the shadows while wearing them, for sure!

FA S H I O N I C O N S L A DY G A G A
by Egle Kudriavcevaite If you lived on this planet for the past 5 years probably wont ask me whos that Lady Gaga? Once you hear her name, suddenly pops up memories of the wild nights out while dancing in some night club according to her songs or imitating her dance moves in front of the mirror...Old good times...However, shes still on the top and her recent hit Applause simply proves her dominance in the industry. Well, Im talking not only about the music industry. As long as shes famous shes inseparable part of todays fashion world. You can call her a style icon, craze, muse or inspiration, but you merely cannot resist her style. Whats really fascinating is her ability to combine these two things (fashion and music) and do It so well. Heres what she said on her web site, When Im writing music, Im thinking about the clothes I want to wear on stage. Its all about everything altogether -- performance art, pop performance art and fashion. This is a real talent being able to match those things and get the best results afterword, isnt It? So, whats her style anyway? Lets start by saying that her fashion inspiration comes from the land, ocean and even cosmos. These little details and shades - all borrowed from the Mother Nature. Also, people who inuence her choices of fashion, according to the singer, are performance artist such as Leigh Bowerythe or singer Grace Jones. Lets be honest what truly inuence her is the small team of people called Haus of Gaga, including her longtime stylist, Nicola Formichetti, whore trying to create this unique look. And theyve managed to do It pretty well. This is an exceptional talent to mix so many different styles at the same time and look that good. I mean, what she does is pulling things together the way that nobody else could ever think of doing. And even though she shows up some really private parts of her body she never looks vulgar. How does she manage to do so? Hows this possible to do those kind of things and do not exaggerate? Not to cross the line? Well, probably this is something that could be described as tremendous eye for detail.

Gaga always stands out by catching all the attention. Sometimes this attention is overwhelming. Such as her meat dress, the one that she wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. As Van Meter reported in 2011, Gaga demonstrates a commitment to outrageous self-presentation that makes every crazy costume worn by Elton or Cher or Madonna look like childs play. We couldnt agree more. Even scandalous Kanye West admitted that he couldnt compete with her wild style. Lady Gaga not only dictates fashion for us, little monsters, but inspires the biggies of todays fashion era such as Marc Jacobs (we still remember these dandelion Afro wigs at his spring 2010 show for Louis Vuitton) or Alexander McQueen whose collection was full of horned coiffures and armadillo shoes! The Lady Gaga ism could be seen in the chains designed by Givenchy or Gaultier Paris leg-bearing bodysuits. Of course, whos guilty for these breathtaking pouf-skirted nale dresses at Chanel? You name It. One more thing, fashionistas will agree with me If I declare that Gaga is responsible for that huge fashion wave of knickers in the UK. And I could carry on non-stop... This isnt just verbalism about how great she is. Gaga really is a fashion icon. I mean, officially. Singer was honored as a style icon from the Council of Fashion Designers of America in New York City. That means something, right? Lets nish by saying that the fashion industry needs artists like her to help push their boundaries and thats exactly what she does. As Vogues editor in chief Anna Wintour wrote in the May 2011 issue, Gagas style is truly boundarypushing. So, roll up the sleeves, designers, Gaga has work for you!
