SECTION 15738 ROOM AIR-CONDITIONER PART 1 1.1 GENERAL RELATED DOCUMENTS Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including the General Conditions, Conditions of Particular Application and Division-1 Specification Sections, apply to work of this Section. 1.2 SCOPE Furnish and install all room air conditioner units as required by the contract and as herein specified. Extent of the split units is indicated on Drawings. 1.3 REFERENCE STANDARDS The units shall be designed, manufactured and installed in accordance with the following: - The unit must comply with ASHRAE standards, room air conditioners (with EER equal to or greater than prescribed by ASHRAE 90.1 and UL requirements. - Refrigerant must comply with the international environmental requirements. 1.4 SUBMITTALS Submit the following for approval in accordance with the Contract, and Division-1 specification sections. 1.4.1 1.4.2 1.4.3 Product Data: Provide manufacturer's performance data such as printed technical literature, installation instructions, catalog. Shop Drawings: Provide certified drawings showing overall dimensions, weights, required clearances.etc.. Installation and start up instructions and operating and maintenance manuals.

PART 2 2.1

PRODUCTS SPLIT UNITS Split unit (cooling only) shall be concealed or high wall decorative type. Unit shall consist of two sections. The first which is installed outside the building shall contain compressor, condenser and condenser fan and the second which is installed inside the conditioned space shall contain evaporator, evaporator fan, filter and control unit. The evaporator unit must be fitted with thermal and sound insulation to the whole assembly and three speed motors. For concealed type split unit shall be complete with all necessary duct-work and air outlets for supply and return sides. Compressor shall be of hermetic type equipped with high quality vibration isolators. Evaporator section shall have three-speed Double inlet, Double width direct driven centrifugal fan and shall have silent motor, Cleanable air filter and cooling coil of copper tubes and aluminium fins. Unit shall be complete with the required length of refrigeration piping as indicated on the drawings. The condenser fan shall be of the axial type driven by tropicalized motor. The drain pan shall be bitumen coated. The drain shall be passed through PVC tubes to the outside of the building. Controls shall be factory wired and shall include digital screen to show room temperature, multi position switches to control fan speed, cooling operation, heating operation and temperature control located in a control panel on unit cabinet. Unit shall be complete with all Protections.

EXECUTION Units shall be executed in accordance with manufacturers instructions.
