Background: When the U.S. Constitution was ratified in 1790, only white males over the age of 21 were allowed to vote. As a result of the Fifteenth, Nineteenth, and Twenty-Sixth Amendments, the right to vote was extended to African Americans, women, and eighteen year olds respectively. In most countries around the world, the minimum age to vote ranges from 16 to 25. Wed like to hear your opinions about whether or not the U.S. voting age should be lowered to 14. Directions 1.
