Savages are often healthy, although they are not as often as is usually supposed but unless you have good health, you cannot enjoy anything or achieve anything. There have it is true been great men who have been invalids, but their work was done in spite of their ill health and good as it was, it would have been better had they been well. Not only do men and women enjoy better health, they live longer than they even did before, and they have a much better chance of growing up. Questions i). Why is not illness considered to be, a terrible thing any more? ii). Why is health regarded as an integral aspect of civilization/ iii). How do invalids form an exception to a rule? iv). (B) One could hardly say that Isaac Newtons road to eminence had predestined. His birth was premature and it seemed for a time that he would not survive because of physical weakness. His father died three months before his birth. When Isaac was two years old his mother remarried and he went to live with his aged grandmother on a farm at wools thorp. It was probably here, without normal family relationship with parents, brothers and sisters and away from other children, that developed the power of meditation and thoughtful concentration. These powers later enabled him to analyse and develop solutions to problems that baffled other scientists. When Isaac was twelve he was sent to kings school at Grantham where he resided with a man called Clark. He spent four happy years in clerks home, where he enjoyed constructing all sorts of devices; models of windmills, mechanical carriages, water clocks and kites. Here he found an attic full of scientific books which he loved to read
