The Mitten Tree, a Beacon Holiday Tra-
dition, goes up this week. Once again, we

are asking for contributions of gloves,
mittens, scarves, hats, etc. Our goal is the
same every Holiday Season, so please help
us keep hands, heads and hearts warm
this winter for needy children in Ottawa
County. The Mitten Tree is located at the
entrance of The Beacon, 205 SE Catawba
Rd. in the Beacon Place Business Center

This Saturday is the annual Kids for
Christmas fundraiser at Mr. Eds on West
Lakeshore Drive in Port Clinton. It began
back in 2008 as a way for Ed Fitzgerald and
his family to give back to the community.
100% of all donations are used to provide
families in the area with help with holiday
gifts for their children in addition to help
with a holiday meal. Last year they raised
over $19,000. It all begins at 10 a.m. with
the warm-up for the Ohio State-Michigan
game. Mike Mad Dog Adams follows the
game with a special performance in the
midst of a live auction. And dont forget
Eds famous Hobo Stew.

December is about family and giving
back. Mel and Barb Ayers are doing just
that at Ciao Bella. Since opening last April,
they report an overwhelming amount of
local support and would like to show their
appreciation by providing FREE KIDS
DINNERS from Dec. 1st through Dec. 24.
All you need to do is bring in a new toy,
which will be donated to Toys for Tots. A
FREE dinner for each toy donated! All the
donated toys will go to children locally.

We are delighted to hear that Kelly Rigoni
is back and ready to continue the pursuit
of her dream at Hot Shots Photography &
Design in downtown Port Clinton. Kelly
was severely injured in a car accident on
Sept. 29. It has been a long recovery period
for her, but she is excited to get back to her
photography duties.

Ferguson Gallery will hold their 15th an-
nual Open House this weekend starting
Friday from 10-6, Saturday from 10-6 and
Sunday from 10-5. They are introducing a
beautiful new Christmas ornament titled
Fire & Ice. Rick Dziak will be at the Gal-
lery on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. They will
also have snacks and beverages served all
weekend.

John Ritter, a Port Clinton native and son
of Dr. Kraft Ritter, has received a signi-
cant honor. John is a Geology professor at
Wittenberg University in Springeld. He
was recently named the 2013 Ohio Profes-
sor of the Year. The school says that John
Ritter is known for teaching in a way that
engages students in hands-on practical ex-
perience and collaborative research.

The North Coast Concert Band and
North Coast Big Band will present a holi-
day concert this Sunday, Dec. 1 at the Port
Clinton High School Performing Arts
Center starting at 3 p.m. The concert is
free and open to the public.

Saturday night CASA hosted its annual Dancing with
the Stars fundraiser at the Camp Perry Conference center.
Six local celebrities and six veteran dancers took the stage
to raise money for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advo-
cates), which gives a voice to abused, neglected or depen-
dent children. At the beginning of the event, a video from
childhelp.org was shown to remind the audience why they
were there. We must remember this is for the children,
said Connie Cornett, the Executive Director of CASA and
organizer of the event.
After the video, hosts Judge Kathleen Giesler of Ottawa
County Juvenile Court and Genoa Police Chief Bob Brat-
ton spared no time bringing
the comedy. The judges for
the evening were Debbie
Hymore-Tester (portraying
Carry Anne), Tracy Gaines
(portraying Max) and Kim
Dusseau (portraying Cher)
who were all former CASA
Dancing with the Stars
dancers.
The dancers were Roseann
Hickman and Craig Olsze-
wski, Pat Adkins and Annes-
sia Nyman, Carlos Mincheff
and Lisa Ramsey, Angela
Rahm and Hank Fox, Ann
Duez and Timothy Nyman
and Rich Riedmaier and
Mary Ann Snider. There
was also a live auction by
Greg Peiffer and a special
performance by One Love
Dancers.
The couple that raised
the most money was Pat Adkins and Annessia Nyman,
who raised $6766 for CASA. In second place were Ann
Duez and Timothy Nyman, who raised a total of $6173.
The Judges Choice Award for best dancing went to An-
gela Rahm and Hank Fox. Overall, the evening brought in
$18,169.80 for CASA. Over a hundred more tickets were
sold this year over last which brought in record numbers
in attendance and prots.

In 1993, Nancy Barna opened one of the rst masso-
therapy practices in the area at a small ofce on Madi-
son Street. This month she celebrates her 20th year of
business in Port Clinton.
I want to express my gratitude
to my family, friends and clients
who have supported me through-
out, such as Bruce Winters, Doc
Waite (the late Dr. John Waite),
Mike Bassett and Julie Dunham.
Barnas family includes husband
Gino; son Bart, 31; daughter Mel-
anie, 22; daughter Madison, 15;
and grandchildren Annabelle and
Brick.
The Kenny House
In 1997, Barna moved her ofce to a turn of the cen-
tury house on Adams Street. From the beginning, The
Kenny House has had a spirit of giving thanks incor-
porated into the place. The Kenny House was named
in memory of Barnas beloved father, Kenny Oglesbee.
Barna purchased and remodeled the house, investing
money that passed on to her when her dad passed on.
I wanted to expand the services, and nd a way to stay
connected to and thank my Dad. He was always a great
host and loved people. I wanted to carry on that tradi-
tion.
Recently Keith Fleming of Keith Fleming Gallery on
2nd Street in Port Clinton assisted Barna remodel the
reception area, blending several of her items with some
of Flemings antiques and displays of merchandise that
the Kenny House offers, maintaining its style that can
be described as recycled and eclectic, yet functional
and warm.
There are three licensed massotherapists that work at
the Kenny House: Barna; Barbie Bloom, who special-
izes in orthopedic massage; and intern Kimberly Wil-
liamson. They offer traditional massotherapy, reexol-
ogy, Thai massage, whirlpool, basalt stone massage, and
pregnancy massage. There are clients that have been
with Barna from the beginning of her practice.There
are those who come here once a year, and those who
come twice a week. The business has developed more
than I ever anticipated.
Barna at times refers clients to other massotherapists
at The Kenny House and in the area. If I am not of-
fering what a client needs, it is to their benet to go
to another therapist. It is a much better t to have an
open door, for clients to come and go when it is right
for them.
As to her own specialties, in 1991 Barna graduated
from The Ohio College of Limited Medical Practice in
Cleveland, which was one of only 7 schools of mas-
sotherapy at that time in the state of Ohio. Since then
she has continued to study, taking approximately 50
classes over the past 20 years because of my passion
for learning more about the eld. That eld has taken
her as far aeld as Thailand, where last year she studied
Thai massage with the masters at a beautiful resort,
with wonderful people. In addition to massotherapy,
she is certied in reexology, Hellerwork, myofascial
therapy, basalt stone massage and Thai massage.

Often, Barna combines study with travel. Recently, she returned from a week-long re-
treat with the noted Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh in Mississippi, one of the best experi-
ences ever.
The Wellness Corner
In 2011, Barna purchased the neighboring property
on the corner of Adams and 3rd Street that now houses
David Prudhommes Mederi Wellness ofces. The Kenny
House and Mederi Wellness form a community Wellness
Corner in the heart of Port Clinton. Dave works with the
mind, and I work with the body. We have had excellent re-
sults collaborating to offer a full wellness experience, said
Barna. On Mothers Day, the Wellness Corner offered a
weekend program that incorporated group and individual
sessions at Mederi Wellness and the Kenny House along
with an outdoor yoga class and lunch.
On the 3rd Street side of Mederi Wellness, there is a laby-
rinth made of native stone that is open for anyone to use
at anytime. There have been people who have walked the
labyrinth as early as 5 a.m., and late into the evening. It is
good to know that people are using the corner to be mind-
ful and reduce their stress. Herb and ower gardens and
a circle with outdoor yoga mats are part of the grounds at
Wellness Corner, all open to the community.
CIC and Sandusky Massage
Since 1994, Barna, who lives on Catawba, has also had a
satellite ofce at the Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton.
Recently she opened a new ofce, Sandusky Massage, lo-
cated at 121 Water Street in Sandusky. Born in Sandusky,
Barna wanted to open an ofce in downtown Sandusky,
because it was home.

5 year battle with cancer. She was born on
Nov. 29, 1948.

Nov. 22, prayers were at the funeral home

Tuesday, Dec. 3, is Giving Tuesday in Ottawa County. #GivingTuesday, which fol-
lows the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, kicks off
the holiday giving season with a global day dedicated to charitable giving, harnessing
the power of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about
real change in their communities. #GivingTuesday celebrates and encourages people to
give their time, resources, talents and social media voice to a new kind of philanthropy
that is about social purpose and collaboration for a better world.
Catawba residents are reminded that the
deadline for applications to the Catawba
Island Holiday Bureau for assistance dur-
ing the holiday season is Dec. 1. Assistance
includes food, paper goods, cleaning sup-
plies and personal items. Also included are
gifts for children age 18 and under, pro-
vided by the Salvation Army.
Applications are available at The Vine-
yard of Catawba, Resurrection Lutheran
Church on NE Catawba Road and the
Catawba Township Administration Build-
ing on Cemetery Road. Applications and
monetary donations can be sent to PO Box
72, Port Clinton, OH 43452. Monetary do-
nations can be sent to Treasurer, PO Box
72, Port Clinton. In 2012, 26 families with
a total of 60 individuals received assistance.

Gazing out my window the moon ap-
peared larger than ever before. So cold the
snow looked like a blanket of crystals lay-
ing silently on the ground. Icicles reect-
ing the cool light of the moon made me
wonder how I could capture this moment
in molten glass, said glass artist Cary Fer-

WHAT IS A GIFT?
A gift is an irrevocable transfer of an as-
set without consideration from one person
to another. A gift may be of tangible assets
such as real estate, jewelry and physical ob-
jects or of intangible assets such as shares of
stock, investment accounts or even insur-
ance policies. Of course cash is great.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY IRREVO-
CABLE?
Irrevocable means that the gift is complete
and you will not get it back. That sounds
simple, but there have been many parents
that thought that what they gave could still
be theirs when they wanted it back. It is im-
portant to understand that it is no longer
yours and if your child chooses to misspend
your gift there is very little you can do ex-
cept never give again. It is a serious decision
which should be carefully thought out with
full knowledge and understanding that
you will never have access to that property
again.
HOW MUCH CAN I GIVE?
The law allows each individual to give up
to $14,000 per person each calendar year.
This means that if you had ten grandchil-
dren you could give $140,000 total made
in separate equal gifts to each grandchild
per year. If you are married, you and
your spouse could double the amount to
$280,000 per year.
IS THAT ALL I CAN GIVE?
Many people think that is all they can do.
Actually a person can give up to $5,250,000
above the annual exclusion gifts during his
lifetime before a tax would be due. This
means that if dad gave you the farm worth
$4,000,000, your dad would not owe any
gift tax at that time.
DO I NEED TO FILE A FEDERAL GIFT
TAX RETURN?
A gift tax return needs to be led if you
give over the annual amount in any one
year. The amount given would be disclosed
and applied against your $5,250,000 life-
time exclusion. Once you have given in ex-
cess of that amount, you would owe federal
gift tax which is equal to the federal estate
tax.
WHY WOULD A PERSON GIVE SUCH
A LARGE GIFT?
If a person has a property that is rapidly
increasing in value and it is important that
it stay in the family, the gift procedure can
be very benecial. If you gave a piece of real
estate which is next to the city limits and it
will be worth substantially more in the fu-
ture, the increase in value will not be in your
estate. This is a freezing technique that can
pass appreciating property from one gen-
eration to the next and avoid estate tax on
the appreciated value. If you give land or an
asset that you purchased for a low value you
must be very aware of the potential capital
gain tax that could affect your childs tax
when he sells many years later. Gifting can
prepare a person for Medicaid qualication
but it must be carefully planned and have
at least a ve year window after the transfer
before applying for Medicaid.
There are many valuable uses for gift-
ing in estate planning and it is important
to review your assets and determine if any
gifting would be benecial for you and your
family. For the average person in their later
years a gift to a grandchild can be a reward-
ing event for both the grandparent and the
grandchild. Most grandchildren still have
that stock or money that grandmother gave
them twenty years ago. It will always have
that special meaning.

This season, holiday shoppers in Erie and Ottawa coun-
ties can give cheer to area seniors by participating in the
Be a Santa to a Senior program.
The program,run by the Port Clinton franchise of Home
Instead Senior Care in partnership with Ottawa County
Senior Resources, The Meadows at Osborn Park, Erie
County Care Facility, Trinity United Church of Christ,
Danbury Senior Center, Lakeview Estates, area retailers,
volunteers and members of the community, helps ensure
isolated seniors receive gifts and companionship during
the holidays. This can be a difcult time for many, espe-
cially those who live alone or have lost spouses and loved
ones.
An estimated 27 percent of people 65 and older (10.8
million people) are widowed, according to the U.S. Cen-
sus Bureau. Further, the Administration on Aging reports
about 28 percent (11.8 million) non-institutionalized
people 65 and older live alone.
Retailers participating in Be a Santa to a Senior will dis-
play Christmas trees from Nov. 22 to Dec. 16 that feature
ornaments with seniors rst names and their gift requests.
Holiday shoppers can pick an ornament from these trees,
buy the items listed and re-
turn them unwrapped to the
store, with the ornament attached.

The local Home Instead Senior Care ofce will enlist
volunteers from its staff, senior-care business associates,
non-prot workers and others to collect, wrap and dis-
tribute the gifts to local seniors who might otherwise
spend the holiday alone.
Be a Santa to a Senior gives back to older adults in our
area, many of whom have had signicant, positive inu-
ence on our lives, said Enedelia Marez, general manager
at the local Home Instead Senior Care ofce. During this
season of giving, we encourage shoppers to buy a little ex-
tra to say thank you to these community members.

Home Instead Senior Care Brightens the
Holidays for Seniors in Erie, Ottawa Counties
Senior Citizen Luncheon at B.C.S. Schools
On Dec. 11, senior citizens (ages 62 and older) who are
residents of the B-C-S School District are invited to attend
a luncheon at the Oak Harbor High School. Lunch will
be provided along with performances by the Oak Harbor
High School band and choir. Doors will open at 11 a.m.
and the event will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the auditorium.
Lunch will be served at approximately 12:15 p.m.
The cost is $2 and reservations must be made by Dec.
2. Reservations can be made by calling the board ofce at
419-898-6210 between 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
On Monday, Dec. 9 at 9 a.m. in the Magruder Confer-
ence Center, the Magruder Hospital Auxiliary will host a
free breakfast program to welcome the newest Auxiliary
Members, as well as guests and anyone interested in learn-
ing more about the Auxiliary.
Currently the Auxiliary has over 250 members and the
volunteers donate approximately 12,000 hours of service
to the hospital each year. Members of the Magruder Aux-
iliary help with hospital book fairs and uniform sales and
volunteer in a variety of capacities throughout the hos-
pital including the Gift Shop. The Magruder Auxiliary
also provides healthcare scholarships to local students. No
matter the level of interest or experience, the Auxiliary has
something to offer everyone.

The Oak Harbor Pee Wee squad consists of 5th and
6th grade girls. There are 19 girls on the squad. They are
coached by Shelly Schultz and Erika Ager, and this is sec-
ond year of the Pee Wee Squad. The girls try out in the
spring and then begin practicing a competition routine
in the summer and prepare material to cheer at the Oak
Harbor Youth Football games in the fall.
Last week the girls were one of ve Pee Wee Squads at
the Nancy Leaser Invitational in Oak Harbor and they
took rst place. They placed second place on Nov. 9 at the
Woodmore competition and they will compete again on
Feb. 15 at Cheer for a Cure competition in Genoa.

The Marblehead Lighthouse and Keepers House are fes-
tively decked out in pine garlands and red bows, ready for
the holiday season. The Lady on the Lake sports two LED
circles, having had her 150-watt halogen bulb and green
lens cover replaced late last spring. Sighted from more
than seven miles away, her new light is also green but only
uses 20-watts of electricity. It has a battery backup in case
of power failure.
While walking the Lighthouse grounds, visitors are en-
couraged to visit the Compass Rose, a centerpiece of com-
memorative bricks. Over 123 bricks were laid this year by
Dick Frederick, Bob Hartman, Ron Kochensparger and
Alan Salzgeber. Memorial bricks may be purchased by
downloading and completing the Brick Order Form on
the website: www.marbleheadlighthouseohio.org. Brick
purchases and their placement about the Compass Rose
are kept on le at East Harbor State Park ofce or the
Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society (MLHS) Mu-
seum when it is open to the public.
Eighty-seven business members supported the Marble-
head Lighthouse Society this season. Businesses as well
as regular memberships maintain the museum and the
imminent construction of the Marblehead Life Saving
Station Museum and Education Center. Dan Fredericks,
a Milan architect, is designing the reconstruction of the
original Marblehead Life Saving Station. Dennis Kennedy,
a retired graphics art entrepreneur and a MLHS trustee, is
coordinating the project behind the scenes.

Neither rain nor winds could keep the MLHS Museum
closed this past season; however the Lighthouse was shut-
tered under these extreme weather conditions. Record-
breaking crowds visited the area and grounds at the Oc-
tober 2013 Lighthouse Festival. Overall, more than 18,415
people climbed the 77 Lighthouse steps this past
season. Special visitors this year included illus-
trator Jodie McCallum, author Nelda Knauff
Adcock, and, on Sept. 15, fty members of the
U.S. Lighthouse Historical Society originating
in Washington. During the areas Bicentennial
of 1812 festivities, a nine-piece U.S. Navy jazz
ensemble entertained a large audience at the
base of the Lighthouse. Aside from visitors from
45 U.S. states, world citizens came from four
Canadian provinces, Austria, Australia, Brazil,
China, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong,
New Zealand, Poland, Scotland and Vietnam.
For 2014, the Marblehead Lighthouse and
Museum opens Tuesday, May 27; the Nature &
Nautical Sale in the Museum barn is Saturday,
July 12 (call 419-798-4877 with donations); and
the Lighthouse Festival is Saturday, Oct.11.
In the meantime, Marbleheads Lighthouse
will be in her holiday attire, snow and icicles un-
til Jan. 11.

Outlook: Last year was arguably the greatest season in
Port Clinton girls basketball history.
The Skins won a school record 21 games, just missed
out on winning an SBC title and advanced to the Divi-
sion II District Finals before losing to a great Toledo
Rogers club. And on top of that, Port Clinton returns
every member of that team this season, led by star play-
ers Hope Thorbahn and Tiffany Colston.
Both Thorbahn and Colston were all-league selec-
tions last season, but it wasnt just them who were in-
strumental in leading the Skins to a great season. Last
year, juniors Emily Ashley and Hannah Weaver took
advantage of their opportunities and Kennedy Gulas,
Paige Culver, Kristen Wood, Maddy Burris and Marissa
Day provided much-needed depth for the club.
For Port Clinton, their success will be determined by
how much help Thorbahn and Colston get from their
teammates, as well as the teams performance on the
defensive end and whether or not they can limit their
turnovers.
Picked to nish second in the SBC by both the me-
dia and the coaches earlier this month, the Skins open
with Bellevue and Woodmore before entering confer-
ence play against Mar-
garetta.

Outlook: After a rebuilding year in
2012-13, theres hope that the Port
Clinton Redskins can return to their
past form that has seen them com-
pete for league championships and
go deep into the postseason, as evi-
denced by their runner-up nish in the 2010 OHSAA Di-
vision II Basketball Tournament.
With most of their key players back from last season and
a year of experience under their belt, Troy Diels team is
primed for marked improvement from their 5-16 record
in 2012-13.
Leading the way is guard Nathan Stubbleeld who burst
onto the scene as a freshman last year and established him-
self as one of the most dynamic players in the Sandusky
Bay Conference. Hes likely in for another good season,
but hell need help from his teammates if Port Clinton is
able to drastically improve.
One of them is senior point guard Dylan Webb. How he
performs will be key to the success of the team, especially
until last years starting point guard, Brock Moore, who
broke his leg while playing basketball over the summer,
returns. (Moore is hoping to return sometime in Decem-
ber.) Hell need help from returning letter winner Carter
Rumball out on the wing and Drew Fodor, Ian Kyle and
Cameron Rodriguez in the post. Newcomers Tytan Rum-
ball, Carters brother, and Stone Scott, Stefan Daniels and
Austin Krupp will be expected to provide depth as well.

Outlook: In just his second season at Oak
Harbor, head coach Eric Sweet was able to
turn things around and point
the program in the right di-
rection. After going 3-18 in
his rst year, Sweets Rockets
went 11-12, nished fourth in
the Sandusky Bay Conference
and pushed Clyde to the limit
in the sectional tournament.
Oak Harbor does, however,
lose its share of key play-
ers from last season, namely
second-team SBC selections
Greg Haar and A.J. Cecil, the
teams top two scorers.
But Sweet will have a pletho-
ra of players to choose from to
nd that missing production,
a lineup that includes quality
shooters in Andy Rathbun,
Ben Cochran, Paul Shay and
Derek Wood and other play-
ers that can drive to the basket
in Deshawn Johnson, Tyler
Sievert, Andre Ramsey, Tate
Haar, Cole Weirich and Bran-
don Schimming. Josh Sar-
ahman, Garrett Harvey and
Vince Szabo in the post.
In the preseason coaches
poll, Huron, who tied with
Perkins for the league title
last season, was picked to n-
ish rst, followed by Clyde,
with Perkins, St. Mary CC,
Port Clinton, Edison and Oak
Harbor Margaretta rounding
out the conference. The me-
dia picked the league to nish
as follows: Huron, Perkins,
Clyde, SMCC, Port Clinton,
Oak Harbor, Margaretta and
Edison.

Outlook: Oak Harbor has one thing go-
ing for them: theyre loaded with talent.
But theyre also very young and inexpe-
rienced.
After losing four key seniors from last
years squad, including their top two scor-
ers (Abbie Gezo, Maria Boers) and point
guard (Makayla Carpenter), the Rockets
will be forced to ll those voids with some
younger, more inexperienced players.
Sophomore Andrea Cecil, who was
Honorable Mention in the Sandusky Bay
Conference last season, is one of three re-
turning letter winners along with seniors
Amanda Hetrick (wing) and Nikki Weis
(post).
Joining those three in the
rotation will be a number
of players, among them
Athena Eli, Emma Bergman
and Brandy Lochotzki at
the wings with Allie Kuhn,
Ivy Martin and Maddie
Rathbun in the post and
freshman Emma Barney at
point guard. Kontak also
notes that Olivia Rollins,
who is recovering from knee
surgery, could be healthy
enough to play by the end
of the month.
Last season, Cecil did a
ne job of getting the ball
out on the break and getting
high-percentage shots while
also setting her teammates
up for scores. Shell have
to do that again this season
as shell be asked to carry
more of the scoring load.
And along with Cecils tal-
ent and athleticism, Kontak
hopes the teams condition-
ing plays a key role in wear-
ing down opponents and
getting wins this season.

Outlook: After a couple of tough sea-
sons, things are starting to look up for
Drew Davies crew.
With just three seniors and a core of
players that have gained crucial experi-
ence in the past few years, good things are
in store for the present and future Dan-
bury Lakers.
This unit, which includes seven return-
ing letter winners in Dominic Manu-
ella, Caleb Berger, John Rhodes, Hunter
Stinchcomb, James Dorko, Keegan Ra-
kosky and Connor Lenthe as well as new-
comers Ryan Chapman and Jon Brooks,
features some versatile athletes who will
benet from Davies decision to have the
team switch from playing zone
to playing man-to-man defense.
Playing in the Toledo Area
Athletic Conference is no easy
task. With heavyweights like Ot-
tawa Hills and Toledo Christian
and quality programs in Mau-
mee Valley CD, Gibsonburg
and Cardinal Stritch, the Lakers
will have their work cut out for
themselves, but they should be
up to the task. Five of Danburys
rst seven games are on the road,
but it will have opportunities to
get some early wins before get-
ting into the heart of the TAAC
schedule.

Outlook: The Lakers were good last year.
Expect them to be better this time around.
Having lost just one player from a unit
that nished third in the TAAC last sea-
son, Danbury should be able to
compete with the best teams in
the conference this year and make
some noise come playoff time.
The Lakers, led by Erin Lavelle,
a rst-team TAAC selection last
year, have seven returning letter
winners, a group that includes
Alyssa Almendinger, Katie Al-
mendinger, Cassidy Rhodes, Tori
Wright, Megan Stephens and
Stephanie Kukay. It is a versatile
group, one that has a sufcient
supply of point guards (Rhodes,
A. Almendinger), wings (K. Al-
mendinger, Lavelle, Stephens)
and post players (Wright, Kukay).
And while theyre a talented bunch, how
they play together will determine whether
or not theyre successful this season. But
more than that, its their commitment to
defense that will enable them to take the
next step and become a 13-15 win team
that will challenge for a league title.

1:00 P.M. (LOCAL TIME) FRIDAY,
DECEMBER 13, 2013 and at that
time and place will be publicly
opened and read aloud. The
project involves the widening
and reconstruction of 640 feet
of Fulton Street from Fourth
Street to the alley between Fifth
and Sixth Street including new
curbs and the replacement of
the existing drainage structures.
In addition, the project includes
the replacement of the existing
water main from Fourth Street
to Seventh Street. The scope of
work includes approximately
1,600 feet of 8 PVC waterline,
430 cubic yards of asphalt,
1,000 cubic yards of aggregate
base, 1,300 feet of concrete
curb, 1,400 feet of underdrains
and 7 drainage structures. The
contract documents, including
plans and specications, are

City of Port Clinton, Ohio, and
the Engineer -- Poggemeyer
Design Group, Inc. (PDG). A set
