COURSE DESCRIPTION This course is designed to equip students with the basic knowledge of using English in module making, lesson planning and teaching mathematics. COURSE OBJECTIVES At the end of the lessons, students are able to: appropriately use English in writing a math learning module for senior high school students, appropriately use English in writing a lesson plan, which is developed from their module, appropriately and confidently use English as the medium of instruction, give constructive feedback to their peers that enable their peers to improve their English, work both in groups or individually.

COURSE POLICIES Attendance Students attendance in this course is MANDATORY . Only two absences without excuses are allowed during the course. Any notification for absences requires valid evidences. Lateness Students coming to class 16 minutes later than the class start schedule are not allowed to sign their attendance list. This means students are considered ABSENT. Yet, they are allowed to join the class even perform a mini teaching (if it is their turn). Late submission for any assigned task results in point deduction. Teacher reserves the right to decide the maximum points to be deducted for each late submitted assignment. ASSESSMENTS Students will be assessed based on the following: 1. 1 group module (30%) Each group should produce one math learning module for senior high school students. Each student may choose any topic. The module must use the given format. 2. 1 group lesson plan and teaching materials (30%) Each group should develop a lesson plan and teaching materials/aids (slides, handouts, exercises, etc.) from their own module. If one module can be developed into several lesson plans, please choose one topic (in one lesson plan) only. 3. 1 mini teaching (25%) All students should perform a group mini teaching based on their own group module and lesson plan. 4. Class participation (attendance, evaluating, giving feedback, writing and submitting journal) (5%) In each micro teaching, students will assess the instructors performance. The assessment should be done at the end of the teaching session and the form should be returned to the instructor. 5. Group portfolio (10%) Team portfolio is basically a compilation of your teams REVISED (if revisions have been made) work. The portfolio should consist of: a. Group module b. Group lesson plan and teaching materials/aids c. Teaching journals The portfolio should be submitted in the form of soft copy.
