Care & Support for the Infected and Affected

25 November 2013

The Cubs of Pietermaritzburgs 4th Wolf Company had their weekly meeting November 8th. Two of our boys won awards that evening. Zethembe (pictured on the left) received the Cub of the Year Award. This award goes to the best cub this year that was polite and had a good attitude all year. The other award went to Siya (on right). He won the Most Improved Cub Award. He was especially honored for his quality of kindness towards others.

Graduation Day! Three of our Tabitha Family graduated from Grade R (Kindergarten) to Grade 1 on October 25th from Christian Life Academy. Amanda, JJ, and Sipho (Pictured above right to left) were pretty excited as you can see to get their diplomas.

Micro Business Trip to Howick We loaded up the ladies of Sweetwaters and took them to see the vendors who make tourist jewellery and sewing goods in Howick. They were inspired by the new designs they saw to create new designs of their own. We hope this will expand their business and increase the profitability of their business.

**The Gymnastics Stars of Tabitha**

During the most recent gymnastic competition, our kids soared. Tim Tim competed on Level 1 level and qualified to represent the province of Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal. He got a two Gold Medals (floor exercise and All-Around). Lulu also competed on Level 1 level and received both a silver and a bronze medal for her floor exercises and All-Around. Mandy also received a gold medal in the competition. Bunny received a silver medal as well. Nzuzo got a Gold medal at the Gymstar level and took home the trophy for the Cart-Wheel-A-thon for the second year in a row. He did 25 cartwheels in 30 seconds! We get dizzy just watching him.

Miriam is growing so fast right before our eyes. She came to us weighing just 1.6 kg and now she weighs 5.0 kg. She is alert smiles, and coos when the other children talk to her. She is doing well with her foster mommies, Mavis and Tandeke. She has progressed off specialized formulas to regular formula and even takes some solid baby foods now.
