As a graduate of Nevada State College with a Baccalaureate of Arts degree in Elementary Education, I feel more than ready to begin this new chapter in my life, educating the future. I received excellent reviews from my cooperating teacher, my supervisor, and my principal as I completed my student teaching at Eisenberg Elementary School. Student teaching has opened my eyes to how much students look up to a teacher as a role model to guide them towards success. Prior to student teaching, I completed observation hours at a variety of schools throughout the valley. It was a great learning experience to see the difference in socioeconomic levels and how that can affect the way you teach certain lessons. Through differentiated lessons, I can reach students with diverse backgrounds and special needs. I have excelled academically, earning a 3.6 G.P.A. at NSC. My enthusiasm for teaching definitely shows in the classroom as I prepare, organize, and present my lessons. I keep my students engaged by incorporating hands-on activities with Kagan strategies throughout the lesson to minimize boredom. As a Las Vegas native, I look forward to giving back to this community through teaching.
