When Righteousness Is Under Attack

Summary
Many Christiansare caught in a vicious cycle of condemnation. When they do something wrong,the enemy attacks their thinking, telling them they are no longer worthy ofGods grace. However, grace is unearned, undeserved favor. No matter what we door what circumstances we endure, we are righteous. Jesus has done the work tomake us right with God; therefore, there is no more work left to do. When we understandthat we are the righteousness of God by faith, the enemy can no longer make usfeel unworthy..

A. We shouldnt be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, which is the Gospel of grace. Its t he only true Gospel (Romans 1:16, 17). 1. As Christians, we are believers of grace, which is Gods unmerited favor toward us. a. Many times, we do good deeds to earn Gods unmerited favor. b. However, to try to earn this free gift is dishonorable to Jesus and His sacrifice. B. All of mankind was infected with sin because of Adams sin. When the Law was initiall y introduced, all of mankind became aware of their sin; they became sin-conscious. However, Jesus s acrificed His life so that all of mankind can be made right with God (Romans 5:12-17, AMP ). 1. In other words, all who were born into sin because of Adam can now be made righteous by believing on Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. a. Unmerited favor includes all that we will ever need to live successfully on this earth. b. Jesus finished works include our righteousness, healing, prosperity, and deliverance. c. When we are established in our righteousness, we rule and reign as kings in life. 2. Once we accept that we have right-standing with God through Jesus, we can, by faith, take possession of His finished works. 3. The enemy attacks our righteousness by reminding us of our failures. a. When we become aware of our failures and shortcomings, we feel we have to earn Gods grace and our right-standing with Him. b. However, that is a trick of the enemy. Despite our failures or shortcomings, God sees us as righteous by faith, not by works. c. Satan attacks our minds. If he can distort our thinking, he can control our lives. 4. The enemy also attacks our righteousness by trying to make us believe that God doesnt love us. a. When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, he mischievously left out beloved when he called him the Son of God.

b. However, Jesus knew He was the beloved Son of God. c. Likewise, the enemy will try to make us believe that we are not Gods beloved. That is how he attacks our identity. d. When our righteousness and identity are attacked, we dont receive Gods unmerited favor, nor do we receive His unfailing love. C. The glory of God is an abundant supply of manifested favor bestowed upon us. Here are four ways we can receive His glory: 1. We can settle in our lives that God loves us unconditionally. 2. We can establish ourselves in righteousness. 3. We can realize that no weapon formed against us will prosper. 4. We can begin to conclude each day with praise and thanksgiving.
