SA NGALAN NG TUBO

A documentary on the struggle of millworkers, farmworkers and people of Hacienda Luisita, Philippines. Land is an important element in ones living. But what makes it so important that anyone would fight till their death just to claim what they linger for. Land is vital to anyone. It is a symbol of territory, power and economic status. You can do a lot of things with vast land properties. In this documentary video, it shows us the kind of system that we have. It shows us flaws of what we call a just system. But what does equal and just means? Would it side only to someone who has power and can do more? Or would it be to someone who can do little but contribute a lot? Confusing as it may seem but the earlier person refers to someone who has ownership and has the greatest share of what it produces and the latter are those who make little but unite together to contribute to the greater whole which the previous enjoys. People fight for what they think is right. Some would also follow on what is ordered to them (in the case of the police force). We now belong to an era where everything should be treated like a civilized person. And in any era it may be we should treat each other like brothers or if not at least as a person. If someone has their sentiments with regard to an issue, violence and force is not a solution. The release of the Assumption of Jurisdiction from the Labor secretary implied to everyone that anyone who gets in the way of the interest of the government will be removed. This is a false belief because we all know for a fact that more than 90% of the Philippine population belong to the worker class and they mainly contribute to our growing economy and it is our duty in turn to give to them what they deserve. Does anyone who worked real hard for you to earn less of what they did? Do they deserve to be bombed with water and tear gas just because they are strongly trying to impart to you what they need? Do they deserve to be shot dead because what they ask for is not any of your concern? Truly the saying the rich get richer and the poor worse is true. Those who belong to the lower class who work day and night just to uplift their status of living will remain at the bottom of the food chain because of some people who care only about their own greed. Workers grieve to have even a slight increase in their wages. A line from the documentary stating that a company earning millions gives a salary of 9.50 pesos daily only to farmers and lets them work 1 day in a week. Is such cruelty even humane? The police force denied that the gunshot came from them and they even found some rifles from the protesters. Why would they kill their own people and decrease their number just to press charges against the police force? We cannot just stay blind and deaf on this type of cruelty to our fellowmen. We always whine about how other countries bully the Philippines and yet we bully our own people. The president may be blamed as well for this. Any decision from the secretary of labor must be Okayed by the President. Hearing the news about this torture to his own people, actions must be started to investigate who is responsible for this. The secretarys decision to issue the AJ is even injustice. The lock down of the company affects the national interest but it mustnt get to the point that forcing to stop the people must end with death. Lastly, no matter how much we oppress our people, no matter how much blood will be shed and no matter how many will die, Filipinos will remain fighting for what they truly believe is right and just. Force may stop them once, twice or even thrice, but there will still be someone who will say I will fight for what is right! If we only learn how to understand what others feel and see things in a different perspective and guided by Gods law that we should help and love others as what we do for Him, we will be able to solve this simple problem that we have. No force, no blood just Love and understanding.
