 ELECTRICITY
EFFICIENT ENERGY FROM THE MAINS
Surprisingly powerful | Electrical energy
is the most flexible source of energy in the
world that is found in every household. Why
then not also use it as the heat source where
heat is required at short notice and for short
periods? The reduced heat demand resulting
from highly insulating buildings and the ris-
ing cost of gas and oil make electric heating
a particularly attractive alternative. Correctly
applied, they can provide even greater con-
venience than classic central heating sys-
tems. In addition, electronic control units,
the 100 % conversion of energy into heat
and the individual temperature control for
every room enable comfortable energy sav-
ings. Where installation is concerned, much
speaks in favour of electric heating. It can be
installed anywhere without too much effort.
Locally, there are no flue gases, making a
chimney and fuel storage room superfluous.
In operation, the electric central heating is
practically maintenance-free, clean and qui-
et. That makes modern electric heating sys-
tems a powerful alternative, not only where
other fuels are not available.

The Directive 2002 / 91 / EC of the European Parliament and of the
Council of 16 December 2002 on the energy performance of build-
ings leaves the decision to the builder how the prescribed values
are going to be achieved. Using more insulation, using the latest
technology or by using renewables. The efficiency of the entire sys-
tem is assessed. These assessments see electrical heating systems
perform well, since they convert 100 % of the available energy into
heat, and they produce the heat where it is required. Heat losses
caused by long supply routes are avoided.

The room temperature controller RTZ-S UP-
converts the stored energy into pleasant
room temperatures. Subject to the tempera-
ture differential, it governs the fan speed to
ensure an even heat delivery. This is where
users can also start the optional booster
heater.
The RTZ-S UP room thermostat regulates the
heat transfer and can also automatically start
the booster heater on demand.

to installation below a low-level window sill.

Many heaters provide a cosiness that cannot be described by merely explaining how
much heat they emit. STIEBEL ELTRON comfort heaters turn a source of heat into a
sensory experience. The reason for this is that they provide pleasant comfort by means
of heat radiation and zonal temperature control. Regardless of whether it is a bathroom
or a reading corner in the bay window, wonderfully warm atmospheres can be created
with STIEBEL ELTRON in a wide variety of room settings at low cost and effort.
NATURAL STONE HEATERS
RADIATE COMFORT

I don’t like sticking to the rules, new ideas must be given a chance too. And so they are
here, in my favourite spot. Everything is just right. The view to the road below. The cosy
warmth inside, that is incredibly pleasant and comfortable. This stone radiator does
not feel like a normal heater, it almost seems to “beam” at me, like the sun. The warmth
really penetrates, so I can concentrate on adding a few fresh ideas to my stories.
The wide selection of different designs enables the natural stone heaters to
be integrated into any interior.

Heat source with positive radiation | Natural stone heaters ca be

used as supplementary heaters and as full heating systems for a
room or an entire house. The extraordinary aesthetics of the natural
stone create a special atmosphere in both cases. The gentle radi-
ated heat generates little air circulation in the room, therefore
avoiding dust creation. This means that the room temperature can
be about 2 °C lower than with air heating systems. Natural stone
heating complies with the Directive 2002 / 91 / EC of the European
Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2002 on the energy
performance of buildings in combination with a ventilation system

FLOOR TEMPERING
FORWARD WITH GOOD IDEAS

Warmth at your feet | The thermofloor floor tempering system can be

used anywhere to provide comfortable heating. It responds to every
temperature request without long delays. Thermofloor is therefore
well suited for use as a secondary heating system in bathrooms, for
example. Because the floor heating material is extremely thin it can
be easily installed when old buildings are renovated, for example.
The pleasant heat underfoot is generated by a mat that is just 3 mm
thick and laid directly underneath the floor covering. Any room can
be quickly programmed for comfort in combination with the RTF-Z
floor temperature controller.
The 7-day time switch facility of the RTF-Z
enables any floor to the heated every day at
different times so it is pleasantly warm when
you want to be comfortable.

FTT S twin
Quick and easy to install | The FTT S twin and FTM S twin heating
mats are suitable for any room layout. The self-adhesive mesh fabric
makes installation easier because the mat will not slip when the final
floor covering is put down. The mats can be adapted when they are
being laid, so that rooms with awkward angles can be properly fitted
with the floor tempering system. With an output of 150 W / m²,
thermofloor provides a pleasant floor temperature. The FTB was
designed specifically for installation in the area of tiled showers. The
output, sizes, heat conductor and connections are all matched to
this type of application.

 Heating with two heat sources | The BHC 175 bathroom radiators are
doubly well equipped for the rapid changes of temperature in a
bathroom. Firstly, they can be directly heated electrically, because
they are filled with heat transfer medium. Secondly, they can also be
connected to the standard hot water heating system. Their 1,000 W
quick-acting heater makes them a strong contender in the heating
stakes. The combination of the radiator surface area and the quick-
acting heater raise the bathroom rapidly to the required temperature.
Even though it is connected to the central heating system, the integral
direct heater rod can heat the radiator in summer, too. So, you never
have to do without the comfort of dry, heated towels. In this case,
the electronic temperature controller regulates the timing and degree
of heat.

DIRECT HEATING
TANGIBLE COMFORT

Individual heating demands can differ greatly. STIEBEL ELTRON direct heaters help to
avoid the need to run the entire heating system just because a few degrees are lacking
in one place. Without involving great effort and expense, they cover the additional
heating demand just where it is needed. For a short-term need to create a pleasantly
warm bathroom or for heating a cellar room that is only used once in a while – these
units can provide cosy heat right from the start.
THE IDEAL TEMPERATURE IS NOT FIXED
BUT A MATTER OF CONTROL

I just can’t stand heat at night. I sleep much better with a window open, and it’s
healthier too. This would all be well and good if I didn’t have to suffer a cold shock in
the morning. There’s nothing else for it. I’ll just have to wrap myself in my duvet and
head for the bathroom. This is why I have bought myself the convector. I set the timer
so that the bathroom is nice and warm in the morning and everything is under control.
Just before my alarm clock goes off, the convector in the bathroom starts and heats
the room up nicely. It’s just like being in the Caribbean! Getting ready for work in the
morning now feels like a mini summer holiday. Now I’m ready to face the day.

where heating and domestic hot water are concerned, because electricity is also available

don’t need an oil tank, and everyone gets a little more room.

Affordable heat flow | As a complete system, the SBF electric central

heating system offers every opportunity for convenient and economical
heat provision. The special feature of this system is its 700 litre cylinder.
The cylinder content is heated up with cheaper off-peak power when
the utility enables the supply. The energy stored is then used during
the following day to heat the home. With this technology you benefit
twice. Firstly, from the cheaper off-peak power tariff, and secondly
from the clean electric power that is universally available. Apart from
that, your heating system also requires no approval from your local
flue gas inspector [where applicable]. Finally, the fully equipped

HRG 4 | The intelligent temperature manager
regulates with different heating curves. For
this calculation, the control device measures,
subject to the outside air temperature, the
flow and return temperatures. The benefit of
this calculation lies in the efficient utilisation
of energy and the constant heating comfort in
the living space. The temperature manager is
comprised of an outside temperature sensor
and a control device. This system can also be
extended by the HFVU 3 remote control.
The heat manager brings flow and return tem-
perature right into the heating curve.
HFVU 3 | Required room temperatures can
be selected at the convenient control device.
The synchronous time switch for the 7-day
program adapts perfectly to individual re-
quirements. Adjusting both rotary selectors
enables the heating curve for day and night
