B Y L I N D A D E N N E R

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cut a piece 12 1/2" x 16 1/2" from sky background fabric.
2. Transfer the full-size cat shape given to the paper side of
the fusible transfer web. Cut out shapes leaving extra

3. Following manufacturers instructions, fuse shapes to
chosen fabric scraps for appliqu shapes; remove paper
backing.
4. Mark the face onto the head piece for embroidery details.
5. Using full-size pattern, photo of project and Placement
Diagram as a guide, position the appliqu shapes on the
background in numerical order. Place lace for wings in
position under pieces; press in place keeping outside edges
of lace free.
6. Cut a piece of stabilizer larger than the cat shape. Pin to
wrong side of sky fabric under cat shape.
7. Set machine for a narrow zigzag stitch with close stitch-
ing. Using threads to match fabrics, machine-appliqu
pieces in place.
8. Embroider facial details by hand or machine using blue
floss for eyes and black for eye outline, nose and mouth.
9. Cut a 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" strip blue print; sew to top of
appliqu background; press seam toward strip.
10. Cut one strip each 1 1/2" x 20" from blue and yellow
