Uninstall previous versions of POWERPREP II. Close all other windows/applications when installing or operating this software. Windows CD Installation: Use Windows Explorer to open the Windows folder on CD, and doub le-click the POWERPREPIIV2_1.exe file to start the installation. Download: Download the POWERPREPIIV2_1.exe file from the GRE website and doubleclick the file to start the installation. Mac CD Installation: Use Finder to open the MacOS folder and double-click the POWERP REP II.pkg file to start the installation. Download: Download the POWERPREP II.pkg file from the GRE website and double-cli ck the file to start the installation. =============================================================== -Launching POWERPREP II Software for the GRE revised General Test Windows: To launch the application after installation click on: Start ... All Programs .. . POWERPREP II ... Launch POWERPREP II Mac: To launch the application after installation go to: Finder ... Applications ... POWERPREP II, to open the POWERPREP folder, then double-click on the POWERPREP I I entry. =============================================================== -Accessing the GRE Web Site Windows: On your task bar click on Start ... All Programs ... POWERPREP II ... GRE Web Si te to access www.ets.org/gre Mac: Open a web browser and navigate to www.ets.org/gre. =============================================================== -Problems Launching Practice Tests POWERPREP II consists of 2 software components: static HTML content viewed with your Web browser, and a separate application that delivers the practice tests. The practice test applic ation is normally launched from within the Web browser. Windows: If you have problems launching a practice test from within your browser, you may try the following alternate procedure: - Open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and navigate to the fold er in which the POWERPREP II software was installed (typically c:\Program Files\ETS\POWERPREP II) - Locate the launch.bat file in that folder, and double-click on the fil e to launch the practice test application directly. If this procedure does not work, please call for technical assistance. Mac:

The practice test application can only be launched via from Finder by double-cli cking the POWERPREP II entry under the Applications ... POWERPREP II folder.
