RE: 2009 Nixa Community Foundation Grant Information

We are sending information to organizations that have applied for grants in the past, requested information about our grant
process, or have been recommended by a Nixa Community Foundation board member.

Grants from unrestricted funds of the Nixa Community Foundation are made to qualified non-profit organizations that serve
the Christian County area. Preference will be given to:
• Projects which are exclusive of the ongoing operation of the organizations;
• Projects which impact the greatest number of people;
• Projects which provide seed money for new programs;
• Projects which will receive matching funds;
Projects which create a lasting impact within the community.

Your organization may submit the grant application which includes: the amount of money requested; the need; the goal of
the project; and who will be impacted by the project.

As part of the application process, you may be asked to visit in person with our Grants Committee.
If your organization is awarded a grant, a follow-up visit will be conducted by a Nixa Community Foundation Committee
member. Financial and other documentation of your expenditures may be requested.

DEADLINE to submit completed application for funding is 12 noon on October 23, 2009. Grant applications incom-
plete and/or received after 12 noon on October 23, 2009 will not be considered
Grants will be awarded at the Nixa Community Foundation Banquet on February 18, 2010.

2) Describe the budget for this project, indicating expenses by category and income by sources.
If your organization serves a multi-county area, please specify what portion of the grant will serve the Christian County area.

7) Copy of the letter from the IRS stating you are a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue
Code.
Agencies exempt from having such a letter include; schools, churches, universities and governmental agencies.
